9th Class Sword Master: The Guardian of the Sword - Chapter 10
Episode 10 Episode
7. Black Wolf Hugo “Are you okay?”
“then. In the meantime, my skills have improved.”
As Yuma brushed off his clothes and stood up, the gatekeeper became embarrassed and put the knife back.
The gatekeeper of the Black Wolf had escaped the dishonor of being defeated twice in a month by a nameless boy, but the humiliation was the same.
The defeat of the gatekeeper did not mean that the headquarters of the Black Wolf Corps would be breached.
Over ten archers were camouflaged using magic and equipment on the fortress walls.
In the past, if Marlon had not been a boy, an arrow containing poison and magical power would have flown immediately after harming the gatekeeper.
It was an act tantamount to declaring war on the Black Wolves.
It was the same with Yuma.
Even though Yuma was a boy, this time there was also the Arch Mage of the Empire. It would be embarrassing if useless diplomatic frictions arose because of rain of arrows.
“Fucking bastards. Aren’t you here to take Marlon?”
“That’s right.”
“You and Marlon should get rid of the habit of wielding a sword first and foremost. If you keep insisting that you are strong for your age, at some point you will go black.”
The gatekeeper pulled five times on the rope connected to the bell on the wall.
Aside from merchants, the Empire’s Arch Mage and unusual boy were the targets of the report.
It was also strange that Yuma took the lead in handling the work even though there was an Arch Mage.
After a while the gates opened.
The party headed inside the castle while receiving the attention of the black wolves.
Cahel looked around the inside of the citadel with interest, and Puang wiped away a cold sweat nervously.
Hugo greeted the uninvited guests by sitting on a huge steel chair in the center of the citadel. It was an arrogant attitude, as if a tyrant was receiving an audience from his subjects.
“There are a lot of fun things these days.”
It was a thick, muffled voice that amplified from deep within the cave.
“Sit down.”
Yuma and the others followed Hugo’s words and sat down on the dirt floor. Rude disrespect continued, but Cahel sat still without saying a word.
Even though he was just sitting and breathing, he could feel Hugo’s bulky muscles pulsing with heat like a huge steam engine right in front of his eyes.
When Hugo stood up, Cahel and Poin looked at his magnificent figure with amazement.
A height of more than 2 meters and 30 centimeters, and thighs thicker than the waist of most adult men.
Red eyes shone from his eyes, as if a large sardine stone emitted light.
‘To the extent that the rumors about the author feel shabby.’
Cahel, who had seen countless warriors, shuddered at the energy she felt from Hugo.
I could tell without even looking at it.
He was the strongest human being Cahel had ever met.
It made me understand why the Empress and the ministers sighed whenever the story of the Kingdom of Mattan came up at every meeting.
Hugo. Also known as Ogre Slayer. The only person in history who fought an ogre one-on-one and won. A name that is never left out when people talk about the world’s strongest person.
He was also the only warrior to defeat the Sword God Marlon Zach before returning.
“Imperial Arch Mage and Merchant.
And Marlon’s friend, a boy who uses a sword aura.”
Hugo looked at Yuma with an expressionless face and said.
Yuma remembered how he didn’t show respect even to Empress Hela Rose.
Numerous knights were watching, but no one scolded Hugo for his arrogance.
There was an excuse that the empress was not displeased, but it was a humiliating scene in itself.
Most of the knights simply said nothing because they were afraid of Hugo.
At that time, the only person who spoke out against Hugo was the young swordsman Marlon Jacques.
As soon as the negotiations with the empress were over, Hugo accepted Marlon Jacques’ request for a duel.
Marlon Jacques had a close match with Hugo and was unfortunately defeated.
One important point is that Hugo was bare-handed. He had left behind his weapon, the Great Wave Breaker, to meet the Empress.
If only Lee had survived, the human damage in the Dragon Horse War would have been significantly reduced. Yuma definitely wanted to make him an ally.
“I have come to entrust the request to the Black Wolf.”
Black Wolf was an expression referring to the leader of the Black Wolf.
Hugo slowly moved towards Yuma and the others. As Hugo got closer, Poin did not dare to raise his head, so he closed his eyes.
It was difficult for Kahel and Yuma to face that intimidation head on. It felt like gravity was increasing with each step he took.
“If you came to see me in person, wouldn’t it be worth it?”
Hugo moved closer to Yuma. Yuma also has a good skeleton for his age, but compared to Hugo, it looked like a newborn baby and a giant talking.
This time, even Yuma was nervous.
“Thank you for opening the door.
Let me start with a formal introduction. The Empire’s Arch Mage Cahel Po Biang, merchant Puang, and I are Yuma.”
“Do the authors follow you?”
“I am a relative.”
“In an empire that loves class so much, commoners are friends with the old people of the Povian family.”
“This is not an empire. You can live as close friends in Matan.
Unless someone snitches.”
“It’s not good to play with words against me.”
He said it with a grin, but Yuma’s knee was shaking without realizing it. It was a warning containing a feeble life. From Hugo’s point of view, it was a weak life.
“Lonely people don’t like jokes. I have been rude.”
“You are not old enough to talk about solitude.”
“There is such a manifestation of solitude right in front of you. You can’t know.”
Hugo moved his gaze to Yuma’s forehead. Yuma concentrated his mind as he felt his head heavy as if a huge mountain was weighing down on him.
I felt like I would collapse if I lost the tension even for a moment. Hugo’s red eyes grew thicker for an instant.
‘Seeing that I can’t feel mana, it’s not a magical eye, but it’s an eye that emits such a bright light. A strong and mysterious figure.’
Cahel felt like getting to know Hugo and talking to him if possible.
“I can feel the wrinkles. These are wrinkles that can be seen even on the clean foreheads of dragons and demons. But you are perfectly human.”
“I don’t know because I’ve never seen dragons and demons.”
“You won’t know if you see it. Before crossing the border.”
“If you can see that, that is another proof of solitude.”
Yuma didn’t know what a ‘boundary’ was.
I just guessed that it was an expression of the state that Hugo had achieved, or that it was actually referring to the boundary leading to another world.
It was a topic to talk about after building more rapport with Hugo.
If it was the latter, it might be possible to intervene to some extent before the Dragon Horse War broke out.
Poin didn’t know why Yuma and Hugo were talking about missing screws.
I just wanted to hurry up and adjust the distance between Yuma and Yuma again.
It was a small harvest that Hugo nailed that Yuma was not a dragon.
During the strange conversation, Cahel tilted her head. I thought that the feeble and unique aura emanating from Yuma might not be just a feeling.
“You are good at decorating words and courage. It’s a different overwork than your friend.
Marlon had two words with me and peed.”
“If I could go back alive, I’d have to tease him to the fullest.”
“Tell me the request.”
said Hugo in a softer voice.
“Can I go to the bathroom for a minute and talk to you?”
“Do it. The bathroom is over there.”
Yuma jumped up and went into the bathroom. As soon as I locked the door and sat on the toilet, I felt sick to my stomach.
“Whoop whoop!”
As I exhaled deeply, my body, which I had barely calmed down, trembled. Hitting his wobbly legs with his fist several times, Yuma regained his composure.
‘Aww. haha that’s really scary Marlon just peed? I must have pooped.’
While Yuma calmed down in the bathroom, Hugo looked down at Poin, who was trembling in an unsure whether he was lying down or sitting.
Unlike Yuma and Kahel, he was an ordinary person who did not feel any special energy.
“You are the first merchant of the empire to set foot here. Do you know?”
“I didn’t know, Your Majesty!”
When Puang said “Your Majesty”, the Black Wolves around them laughed. Even Hugo raised the corners of his mouth slightly.
Poin didn’t even feel ashamed and just looked at Hugo’s ankle.
“I will not harm you. It is not shameful that the merchant is timid. But it is shameful for a merchant not to make money and give it away. We look forward to supporting the Black Wolf in the future.”
“I see. We will support you no matter what!”
After going to the bathroom, Yuma’s burden eased as the atmosphere in the castle softened. Yuma approached Hugo and started talking about the request.
“Hugo-sama, do you know the Mirjaks?”
“Don’t ask me if I know what I cannot know.”
Mirjak was a war refugee who could not be protected in any land because the country had disappeared. Hugo, who was active in numerous battlefields, could not have known them.
It was unexpected that the word miryak would come out of the mouth of the boy who had come to entrust the request.
“I want to take them to plow the fields in Matan.”
“I don’t think you came to me to tend an ordinary field. Why must it be Miryak?”
“Because it is dangerous farming.”
