Academy’s Genius Swordmaster - Chapter 10
#10
Chongrang towards Islands .
Something fell at Marja’s feet. Two severed blades were rolling at his feet.
“uh…?”
Ronan turned the corner and disappeared. Marja stared blankly at the two swords cut in half. There was not a single incontinence in the clean cut.
‘When was it cut?’
Marja clearly saw Ronan’s sword cutting through the air. Even if he had touched it at that time, it was impossible for his sword to be cut. Didn’t he use the old sword instead of the black iron sword?
Marja stood there for a while. Asher, who had been paying attention all the time, sneaked up to me. He smiled awkwardly and sent eye greetings.
“Hey… good job.”
Asher disappeared along with Ronan. She was the only one standing in the empty lot. After a while, Marya threw down the sword and smiled.
“…That’s a funny guy.”
****
“Now take it.”
Marja kept her promise. Returning in the evening, she handed over some books along with a sack containing exactly three times the amount.
“What is all this?”
“I liked you quite a bit. I have to go to the island tonight.”
It was a book that covered all of Phileon’s previous written exam questions. It seemed that the thick leather cover was not usually expensive. Among them were notes that Marja had organized herself.
“Stay tight. If both of them fall, I will kill them.”
Marja said, pulling the two of them by the nape of their necks. Asher gasped and sighed, and Ronan nodded with a laugh as if he was dumbfounded.
“Don’t be late for the test day.”
The farewell that promised a reunion was neat. Marja waved her hand three times on the roof and lay down. The Caravel Merchant left Marvas with the boys seeing them off.
They stood there even after the caravan was out of sight. said Ronan.
“Wasn’t she such a wayward girl? I guess I can’t believe rumors that women with big breasts are nice.”
“huh? Uh…I…was fine…”
“Right. He was a good kid.”
There was a pipe in Ronan’s mouth. He blew smoke at the night view of Marvas and turned around. Merchants of the just-opened night market were soliciting customers.
“Let’s go back soon.”
“huh.”
Ronan and Asher went straight to Nimburton. It was a lot of luggage, but thanks to buying a mule, I was able to make a pleasant homecoming.
They arrived at Nimburton the next morning. Iril, who was digging potatoes, threw down the hoe and came running.
“Ronan!”
“I’m back.”
“Where have you been this time? aren’t you hurt? What else do you mean by this?”
Concern dripped from his sweet voice. It was because of his previous history of going around all kinds of foreign places and getting into accidents.
“It’s not a horse, it’s a mule. And this is a gift.”
“gift?”
Ronan took Iril’s hand and led him into the house. And put a box on the table. It was a wooden box with the pattern of Caravelle Company stamped on the lid.
“Open it.”
“I don’t have to give a child something like this… What did my younger brother prepare?”
Iril, who opened the box expecting flowers or food, froze. Inside the box, gold and silver coins were lined up like well-trained soldiers. Even if you look at it, it was enough money to buy a house.
“Rororo ro Ronan…? What the hell is this… what…?”
“This is the money left after the tuition fee. Asher and I earned money.”
“Assel…? That pretty-looking kid? You stole it from him?”
“I didn’t steal it, I earned it. You will earn more in the future.”
Ronan’s tone was confused. Erill’s tattered clothes were soiled with wet dirt or small roots. It was always like this. It was a pity to buy and wear cheap clothes while saving money for my mean younger brother.
Ronan said as he gently scraped the dirt off his sister’s nose.
“So, noona, stop digging potatoes.”
Ronan ran out of the house without saying that. It was best to dodge before the barrage of questions poured in. Even if I honestly tell you where the money came from, I don’t think anyone will believe it.
He turned and headed up the hill where he woke. The black iron sword he obtained this time was hanging from his waist. The scenery that I couldn’t protect came into my eyes.
“Technology… There really isn’t anything like Niimi.”
Ronan looked over the village and pulled the hilt. The black blade was as heavy as the night sky on a rainy day.
To be honest, he couldn’t understand Phileon’s practical exam. As long as the swordsman kills well, what kind of dog shit is asking him to show his own skill.
‘It might have its own meaning, but.’
However, I did not dismiss it as useless. Marya’s swordsmanship using mana came as a rather fresh shock. Even if he only knew how to deal with that much mana, he would be able to become much stronger than he is now.
Besides, it’s the school I wanted to go to so much. Ronan silently raised his sword. The tip of the sword, raised above the top of his head, fell in a straight line.
‘Wouldn’t something come out if I did it?’
He started swinging his sword vertically. After 3,000 swings, he planned to swing 3,000 horizontally and then 3,000 diagonally. It was a training method for punitive units that was simple and uncivilized but effective.
Ronan realized the seriousness when he caught Luna Goblin. It was unbelievable that he was suffering from muscle pain the next day after only 14 swings.
The first task to be solved was to forcibly age this fledgling body. After cutting the knife, I planned to do basic physical training such as running and push-ups.
“Good. Black iron.”
Even without paying much attention, the sword path was accurately drawn. It was definitely a good sword that didn’t shake. Ronan did not return home until evening. Iril, who was cooking the stew, exclaimed in surprise.
“Welcome Ronan… buy a deer?!”
A chubby deer was slung over the sweaty brother’s shoulder. It was cut in the throat with a single knife, so there was almost no scar on the leather.
Ronan skilfully separated the meat from the hide, and this time began to make a furnace. The brazier, which was made in less than an hour, looked pretty decent.
“When did you learn all of this?”
“What… I’m with you and I’m with you? let’s eat together.”
It was a skill he learned while touring the wandering roads and punitive units. He started grilling the skinned meat. The organs and blood were not discarded and cooked separately. Iril, who tasted his brother’s food for the first time in his life, was surprised.
“This is really delicious…!”
“right? Eat a lot.”
She said, forgetting that food was in her mouth. The appearance was rough, but the flavor was very deep, and it seemed that it was not a skill that had been made once or twice. Ronan was almost putting the meat in his mouth.
“Roronan…eat it slowly. Then catch up.”
“I’m okay. You should eat well too.”
This was also part of training. His theory was that even a skeleton could become an ogre with high-intensity exercise and nutritious meals.
After a violent meal, Ronan went into his room and opened a book. The content itself was not difficult, but the scope of the questions was extremely wide.
“Sir. Why should I know something like northern dining etiquette?”
Studying for the first time in my life was boring and sleepy. Still, Ronan continued reading the book. Fragile bookshelves and dry nosebleeds, signs of effort from unknown origins, kept him from tearing apart the book with a scream.
‘Come to think of it…’
Suddenly, Ronan realized that he was making an effort for the first time in his life.
It didn’t feel too bad. Investing time and taking action to achieve something.
That night, Ronan changed the candles in the room for the first time. After finishing his studies, he fell asleep the moment his head touched the bed. After dawn, I picked up my sword again and headed up the hill.
A month passed like that.
****
“Oh Asher.”
“It’s been a while, Ronan.”
The ripe wind smelled of acacia. Two boys met at the entrance of the village and exchanged greetings. They met after a month and spit out the same words as if they had been prearranged.
“Has the baby changed?”
“Your body… has changed a lot.”
Asher looked much better than before. It seemed that the urge to exercise even a little every day worked. Her back, which had always been hunched over, straightened out, and her bony limbs gained some weight.
Many of the gloomy shadows that always hung over her face were gone. She still looked like a girl.
“Did you study a lot?”
“It’s just… okay? Marja did a good job organizing it.”
“You’re an unlucky bastard.”
“By the way, Ronan…doesn’t he have some kind of disease?”
Asher asked anxiously. It was the same for Ronan that he was healthier than before, but it was a bit severe. Still, the boyish body was stronger than most adults.
His shoulders were so wide that he wondered if it was possible to sleep on his side, and he seemed to be a hand taller.
“It’s a disease, man. There’s still a long way to go before you grow up. This much is not even up to our general.”
“I think it’s okay to grow up…a general?”
“There is such a thing. Are you ready?”
“huh.”
On the backs of the two boys were large backpacks. Compared to the incredibly heavy exterior, it was surprisingly light because it was filled with only the necessary items on the way to Jedo Island.
“Then I’ll go, sister.”
“Yeah, be careful!”
Ronan turned around. Iril, who came out to see me off, was standing with a smile on his face. Her silver hair, bathed in the spring sun, was shining brilliantly.
“oh! Wait Ronan. The collar is broken here.”
“You just need to wear that.”
“no! We’re going all the way to Jedo, so we have to be sure!”
She lifted her tiptoe and tidied up her sister’s clothes. Ronan thought he had to get his sister out of Nimburton. Iril, dressed in new clothes, was so beautiful that he did not look human.
‘If I touch any bastard, I’ll cut them to pieces.’
Ronan removed all elements that could be harmful to his sister who was training hard. A typical example was the Hans gang. Ronan attacked the thugs whose wounds were slowly healing, gave them power again, and set the hideout on fire.
The boys, who were groaning in the spring rain on the ground, were seized by men who had suddenly attacked them. It was the mercenary group that Ronan had provided information about in advance.
‘Whoa…Damn it, there’s no one.’
‘What happen? I think I can help.’
‘ok? What are you?’
The mercenary captain I met by chance at a bar was struggling with the lack of personnel. After a while, he had to go down to the battlefield in the south, but all the handymen he picked up to use as arrow holders had run away.
Ronan told him he knew boys who were always hungry for blood. I added that all of them were from orphans, so there would be no regrets even if they disappeared.
‘Save me!’
‘Free this thing! Ronan! Ronaaaan!’
The mercenary captain gave me a coin that I didn’t even want. Hearing the cries of the orphans who were clinging to the bars of the wagon, Ronan thought that the stew he ate this morning was delicious.
After tidying up, Iril turned his head towards Asher.
“Assel, do well on the test too!”
“Yes yes! I will do my best!”
A new recruit-like answer came out of Asher’s mouth. Seeing Iril’s face up close for the first time, Asher seemed to understand why this idiot became a gentleman to his sister. There was a reason why he was bored even after seeing Marja.
said Erill.
“Take it easy! If you fall, you can live here with your sister for the rest of your life!”
“That’s not bad either. I will be back.”
Ronan kissed his sister lightly on the cheek and left Nimburton. Iril waved his hand until the two figures disappeared as dots.
“Until Marvas. Two.”
“Seven pieces of silver.”
“Would you like to pay the original price after getting hit by seven?”
“I’m sorry. Five coins.”
They took a wagon and moved to Marvas. It was a long way to lead the mule, and there was no place to deposit it when I arrived.
The travel wagon was quite comfortable. Ronan smoked, sticking his head out of the half-open window. Come to think of it, it was a complete break that I took after almost a month. A languid spring breeze tickled his nostrils.
“Ha… that’s nice.”
Smelling the sweet scent of flowers seemed to relieve fatigue on its own. He turned and looked at the seat across from him. I saw Asher wiping his staff with a cloth.
“How about that wand? Are you sure you like it?”
“huh. I guess I didn’t sell well. My power is getting better and my concentration is getting better…”
“It looks good… It’s so good that I secretly try putting it in my butt, right? eww.”
“What are you talking about!”
“How can you even scream now?”
Ronan giggled and grabbed the wand. He said, ‘In this way, for example.’ With the words, he began to make vulgar movements. Asher screamed.
“Stop that! Don’t put it in a place like that! give it back!”
“Khehehe! Shout louder!”
Ronan laughed. It was a journey with a heavy mission, but it was fun anyway. The coachman looked back and burst into laughter, almost causing an accident.
