Academy’s Genius Swordmaster - Chapter 145
[ 145. Reverberation of Winter ]
#145
It was early in the morning when Evelyn Droza woke up. The ceiling I looked up at was unfamiliar. He seemed to have slept for a very long time.
“here is…?”
She slowly lifted her upper body. The blanket covering her body smelled warm. Sunlight penetrated through the curtains and penetrated the room.
The interior was tidy. There were thick beds lined up in rows. It was a vaguely memorable landscape. It was definitely the health room of Phileon Academy.
‘Why am I… here? I must…’
Evelyn frowned. The memory was sparsely interrupted. I remember running into an all-white woman in a snowstorm and hugging her, but I couldn’t remember what happened after that. Just then, I heard a familiar voice from next to me.
“Are you feeling better?”
“…Senior Elizabeth?”
Evelyn turned her head and widened her eyes. A girl with dark purple hair was looking down at her with her arms crossed.
In the center of his pure white neck, the frostbite mark he had made was clearly engraved. said Elizabeth.
“Hey, you call me senior. You don’t even know what you’ve done?”
“That’s… I’m sorry. What the hell happened…Did I make a mistake?”
“I did. A very big mistake too. First of all, thank you for this person. Because I am your benefactor.”
Elizabeth winked. Behind her stood a young man he had never seen before with his hands in his pockets. His tall height, jet-black hair, and scarlet eyes like sunsets were impressive. Although he was fierce, he was a very handsome man. he said bluntly.
“Hey, do you have any pain anywhere?”
“yes? ah yes.”
Evelyn nodded quickly. Good thing. I mumbled and turned my back. Evelyn, who belatedly recalled Elizabeth’s words, opened her mouth,
“That’s it…thank you…!”
But the young man had already left the room. I couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on. It seemed clear, however, that something had been seriously wrong. Elizabeth sighed lightly.
“Never mind. Because you are that kind of person.”
“What the hell happened…?”
“I came to explain that. Come on, take it.”
Suddenly, she noticed the warmth of her limbs, which had always felt cold. A prayer that was nestled in the heart. Elizabeth, sitting on a simple chair, held out a mug.
“You want to tell me directly? No, you don’t have to…”
“It’s noisy. He said he still needs to rest, so listen. Aren’t you going to take it?”
“Ah, I’ll get the bar. sorry…!”
Evelyn accepted the cup. Hot lemon tea was steaming from the inside of the mug.
“So you, to the witch of winter…”
After clearing her throat once, Elizabeth began to tell the story of the past year. Ronan, who was watching from the doorway, opened his mouth.
“I don’t think we need one, do we? I don’t think I’ll be able to concentrate when the sunbae goes in.”
“huh. Eri is really nice.”
Adeshan nodded in agreement. Instead of a long, thick leather coat, she was wearing a martial arts school uniform worn in spring and autumn.
As soon as I heard that Ibelin was awake, I ran to her without combing my hair, but Elizabeth came first and took care of her. Ronan shook his head.
“The funny thing is that he wants to deny that. I just want to live honestly.”
Not only had he helped Schlieffen’s sister before, but he was just a good-natured person. why are you ashamed of it? Adeshan glanced back at Ronan and smiled.
“Whoops, that’s like someone I know.”
“Who are you?”
“There is such a person.”
Ronan asked again, but she didn’t tell me. Anyway, it was fortunate that Evelyn came to her senses. The two of them calmed down and moved on. Adeshan asked.
“So it’s still morning, what are you going to do today?”
“First of all… I want to rest a little longer. After working day and night for several days, I was very tired.”
Ronan stuck out his tongue as if he was fed up. During the few days he returned from Rodolan, he traveled all over the place receiving compliments. With the detailed testimony of Inquisitor Karaka, he was recognized for all of his exploits, but that made things a hassle.
Even after completing the pilgrimage and returning to Phileon, it was not over. People from all walks of life came to express their gratitude and received an enormous amount of gifts. I could still see the faces of the merchants who had been trembling with the idea of erecting a statue of the hero who ended the winter. said Ronan.
“I’m glad it worked out, though.”
“huh. really.”
Evelyn and Asher were acquitted. It was thanks to Archmage Lorhorn, not anyone else, who defended him.
Of course, he is responsible for himself, but it would be difficult if the talented person he recruited as a disciple turned out to be a criminal. I thought it would take a lot longer to explain because there were so many things I committed, but it was fortunate.
“that’s right. I heard you received an invitation from the imperial palace. When are you going?”
“Ah, as long as you contact me three days ago, they say it’s fine anytime.”
“I see. Just tell me when you’re going. I’ll try to match the time as much as possible.”
“Are you on time?”
“huh. I’m going to have an audience with His Majesty the Emperor, but I can’t wear it like I normally do.”
Adeshan said that she would make her own clothes for the audience with the emperor. Even though Ronan didn’t have to, her attitude was firm.
As soon as I left the Gallerion Hall, the campus, which belatedly welcomed spring, caught my eye. There was still a little bit of cool air around. The chirping of the birds was heard in the pale tawny light.
Fresh wild grasses, leaves, and spring flowers that had bloomed in just a few days were dripping with a refreshing scent everywhere. Ronan, yawning profusely, was about to return to the dormitory. Adeshan said, holding onto his sleeve.
“Ronan. Could you spare me a little time?”
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh? What happen?”
“I can’t explain the details… I’ll go and tell you. It snowed yesterday.”
“eye? Isn’t it full spring now?
“I thought it was like that too, but it rained for a while yesterday morning. We have to go before the sun rises.”
Ronan followed her with a tired expression on his face. Seeing that he didn’t let go of his sleeves, it seemed like a fairly important task. What will happen this time?
Ronan walked west of the lot, led by Adeshan. It was still early in the morning, so there were hardly any students walking around the campus.
Well, it’s a time like this, so the student president can hang out with someone like me. Thinking about this and that, I walked and arrived at my destination before I knew it. Ronan looked up at the familiar hill and shrugged his eyebrows.
“The Hill of the Four Seasons?”
It was the hill I climbed with Adeshan before Haeju. I remember looking at the sunset for a long time while leaning on each other’s shoulders. Four trees were growing together in one place.
“Looks like it really snowed. What a day.”
“huh. Let’s go up.”
What Adeshan said was true. The hill and its surroundings were covered with really white snow, probably because it was a relatively neglected area.
Adeshan grabbed Ronan’s hand and pulled it. As we approached the summit, a cherry tree in full bloom caught my eye. Come to think of it, I said that one flower blooms every season.
They reached the top before long. Ronan, who followed Adeshan’s finger and turned his head, froze in place.
In an instant, all the thoughts floating around in my head were blown away. Adeshan smiled as if to say, confidently.
“Remember what I said? It’s pretty in winter.”
“…after all, it’s spring.”
“It snowed. It is winter today.”
Ronan nodded slowly. Come to think of it, I remembered that we promised to come up together again when winter came.
I couldn’t deny this. It was a beautiful landscape.
Late-blooming cherry trees formed a colony on the east side of the campus. White snowflakes were piled up on top of the light pink petals that bloomed covetedly. The pale blue sun was slowly rising in the distance.
Wheein…! A sudden spring breeze rushed through the trees. Countless petals floated along with the wind and scattered along with the snow. Both of them’ eyes widened.
“Wow…!”
It was like a million butterflies taking off at the same time. As the wind changed direction towards the hill, the petals flew straight towards the two of them.
Ronan was in the middle of admiring the spectacle in a daze. Adeshan’s laughter came from right next to him.
“Ahaha Ronan, look at this.”
Ronan turned his head. She held her balance with her chin held up so as not to drop the cherry blossoms that landed on the bridge of her nose.
A few snow-covered petals clung to her hair, black as the night sky. Ronan, who had been quietly looking at Adeshan, opened his mouth.
“It looks pretty.”
“Huh, right?”
It seemed that I would never forget this day forever. The two came down from the hill only after the sun had fully risen. Ronan, who was going down the hill, opened his mouth.
“Thank you so much, Pearl of Perpetual Story. I live thanks to you. You are a hero who saved the world.”
“Yes…? hero?”
“yes. If it wasn’t for that, there might have been a war with the dragons.”
“I’m not sure what that means… Anyway, I’m glad it helped.”
Adeshan smiled. Until then, their hands were still holding hands. There was no other reason other than that I wanted to.
****
“Huhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!”
The incident took place the next afternoon. Shrill screams echoed through the corridors of Navardoze’s coffin. Realizing that it was Asher’s voice, Ronan immediately burst into his door.
“What the fuck is going on?”
“Ro Ronan…! what about me Am I becoming a monster now?”
Asher, in pajamas, was breathing heavily in front of a full-length mirror. He was covering his bangs with both hands, as if he had bumped his forehead somewhere in the corner. Ronan frowned.
“What kind of bullshit are you talking about all of a sudden?”
“Look at this…!”
Asher slowly removed his hand. A part of her bangs was dyed white, forming a bridge. The eerily white thing was the exact same color as the witch’s hair. Ronan’s brow furrowed.
“What is this? Make me feel bad.”
“I don’t know. I was there when I woke up.”
Asher cried and said. He said that after waking up as usual, he looked in the mirror and saw something like this growing on his head. Ronan started examining his head.
“Is this a side effect of being possessed by a witch? Let’s see…”
“Ugh!”
Ronan tugged at the hair he had been fiddling with. Oops! With a cheerful sound, a bunch of pure white hair was pulled out. Asher crouched down as he wrapped his arms around the seat he had been chosen for.
“Ah, it hurts…!”
“Hey, look at this.”
White hair grew out of it and filled the empty spot. Oops! Oops! It was the same no matter how many times I pulled it out. Ronan laughed.
“I don’t mind. I think something will be sold at a high price, so shall we draw just enough to fill a sack?”
“Hey…! Ha don’t!”
Asher waved his hand as if to shake it off. At the same time, something cold and sharp brushed Ronan’s cheek. hooked! There was a sound like a knife stabbing wood. Ronan slowly turned his head.
“This is…”
His eyes widened. The sharp ice like a dagger was driven deep into the tree. Asher gasped and hurriedly ran.
“Hehehe…! Ro Ronan. are you okay?!”
“You bastard…!”
A drop of blood flowed from the spot he brushed, but now was not the time to pay attention to such things. White cold air was leaking from the ice.
The stone walls were slowly turning to ice. It was very similar to the ice that the Witch of Winter used to handle. Ronan asked.
“Can you use ice now?”
“That’s…”
“Honey. tell me straight This is outright attempted murder. You don’t want to be sentenced to ‘undress it all and run it out into the hallway’, do you?”
“Hee! Oh no! In fact, shortly after coming back…”
Asher hesitantly continued his explanation. It was the morning after returning from Rodolan that he realized his new powers. I tried it, wondering if I had any strength left, but the ice really came out.
“Then, was it you who made it snow yesterday?”
“Uh yeah… that’s right. I was afraid… I couldn’t tell anyone.”
Asher hesitated and answered. Occasionally, I heard that there are wizards who develop new attributes naturally, but this felt a bit different. Rather, it was similar to himself who accidentally absorbed Vajra’s power and made a core.
By the way, the minister appeared yesterday thanks to him. Ronan laughed and lightly flicked Asher’s nose with his finger.
“Ouch!”
“good. Then forgive me.”
“Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu…?
“Thanks to that, something fun happened.”
Ronan laughed. Actually, the attempted murder was just a joke, and I didn’t feel bad at all.
I was so happy that I wanted to have a banquet with expensive alcohol. He already handles fraudulent telekinesis, but if he could use the Winter Witch’s ability together, it would be an incredibly powerful force.
-smart.
Then there was a knock on the door from behind. Ronan turned his head. I wondered if some stupid guy would knock on the open door, but a familiar face was standing there. Schlieffen met Ronan’s eyes and opened his mouth.
“It was quite disturbing. What’s going on?”
Seeing how serious his expression was, he must have been very upset when he suddenly heard a scream. Ronan motioned for her to go.
“Ah, don’t worry. It’s a good thing. Go and take care of yourself.”
It wouldn’t be too late to gather this sergeant together in the club and let them know. Schlieffen shook his head slowly.
“I didn’t come here because of the noise, Ronan. I came across it by chance while looking for you.”
“ok?”
“You have to go with me right now.”
His voice was serious. He was always like that, but today was something different. I must say that he seems a bit nervous. Ronan tilted his head.
“What is it?”
“This is a call from Instructor Butterfly Rose. He says he has something to say about the sword festival.”
