Academy’s Genius Swordmaster - Chapter 6
6. Coward Asher (4)
#6
The goblins who saw the blood went into a frenzy.
Even from the goblin’s point of view, the face of the comrade with the mace deeply embedded in it was disgusting. As if they had promised, they took up their weapons in unison.
-Kyaaaaagh?!
Then one pointed to the altar and screamed. About half of the collected offerings had disappeared. The completely distraught goblins screamed and ran out in all directions.
Before long, they could spot a human figure slowly rising into the air.
-Keaaaak!
“I got caught!”
Asher gritted his teeth and concentrated his mind. He had never tried to float himself by telekinesis.
In an instant, the goblins gathered at my feet jumped up and down, stepping on each other.
“Quaaaaaagh! go away!”
All kinds of weapons grazed the trouser hem. Asher, who struggled desperately, finally reached a height that goblins could not reach.
He threw himself at the tree next to him. At the end of the joints of the whole body, I was able to catch the protruding branch.
“Huh…! Whoa!”
Suddenly, my thigh felt sore and I lowered my head. Blood could be seen flowing through the cracks in his torn pants.
Asher cried out in a loud voice, suppressing the tears welling up.
“Hey Ronan…! Heck it’s up!!”
At that moment, a shadow jumped out from behind the tree Asher was hanging from.
The shadow rushed straight towards the goblin horde. The goblins, whose eyes were focused on Asher, did not notice Ronan approaching.
Awesome!
As soon as a silver arc was drawn, three heads soared into the air. After making his first stroke, Ronan was relieved to realize that his senses hadn’t dulled.
Chew! Again, two heads gushed out with fresh blood.
– Kyareuk? Kyaaaaaaagh?!
Only then did the goblins realize that there was another intruder. Of course, it wasn’t Ronan’s business, so he swung the knife regardless.
The goblin’s body, which was looking around, was split vertically.
-Kyaauk…!
The blood that spurted out like an explosion soaked all around. When he kicked the severed half of his body, the twisted intestines untied and poured over the heads of the goblins.
Ronan, who had reached the center of the group before he knew it, stopped in place.
-Kecker…!
“One…two…”
The cruelty play was a great success. The frightened goblins couldn’t easily approach Ronan.
Ronan flicked his fingers and counted the remaining goblins. My arm was already throbbing, and I definitely felt the need to train my body.
The first thing you see is thirty-one.
“Fifteen times.”
Ronan, who assumed the number of times he would swing his sword, spurred the ground and ran.
****
Dawn is dawning. The shadows of the trees and grass were lengthening in the slowly falling sunlight. Birds start chirping and waking animals stretch.
It was a time when everything was beautiful. Except for the goblin colony that was destroyed overnight and Ronan, who was covered in blood.
“Aren’t you hurt?”
“Yes. I’m okay.”
Asher held his breath as much as possible before answering. There was a bloody smell to the point of losing consciousness, vibrating everywhere. Around the campfire was a mess of dismembered Luna Goblins and their contents.
“Good work.”
Ronan tapped him on the shoulder. Asher shook his head without a soul. Ronan’s battle scenes were playing over and over in his head.
‘What did I see?’
It was literally a nightmare scene. Ronan drew this horror with exactly fourteen sword strikes. In a way, the massacre without the slightest superfluity was even artistic.
Suddenly Asher felt sorry for himself.
All he did was follow Ronan’s instructions and climb a tree. Ronan undoubtedly would have produced similar results without him.
“By the way… if that’s the case, then you don’t need me?”
“Yumma, you said that a sense of actual combat is important.”
“No, it was dangerous, not like this… I just felt like I was getting in the way of you.”
“I said it was something I could do. In the future, there will be many things that only you can do.”
It was an obvious way of speaking, as if telling people that when ice melts, it becomes water. Asher nodded, wishing so.
“By the way, what is that on your leg?”
Ronan asked with a straight face out of nowhere. Looking down at her leg, Asher noticed an elongated cut on her thigh.
“huh? Oh, this was earlier…”
“I heard you weren’t hurt?”
Asher shook his head as if it was nothing. It was a wound he had sustained while climbing a tree, but it was not very deep, so he deliberately did not mention it.
However, Ronan deliberately inspected the wound with a serious expression on his face.
“Do you know how dirty those bastards hands are? Even if it is a strange disease, it will just die.”
Suddenly, Ronan headed to the altar and started rummaging through junk. When he came back, he had a beautifully decorated bottle in his hand.
“Anyway, as long as it shines, I get everything. Stupid bastards who don’t even know how to write.”
“What is it?”
“Wound or wolves.”
Asher opened the wound as he was told. Ronan sprayed the liquid from the bottle without hesitation. The area touched by the liquid became warm, and the wound healed in an instant.
“Four Potion…!”
Asher’s eyes widened. This was the first time I saw a ‘real’ potion.
I didn’t know the exact price, but I knew that I had to pay at least gold coins to buy this amount of potion.
“Hey, it gets better soon. I really like this workshop stuff. ‘Holy donkey’, remember that too.”
“Can I use this valuable thing for me? I’m nothing…”
“What kind of shit is that? Then I can’t hurt myself?”
“No, I don’t mean that….”
“If everything is cured, pack your things quickly. There is a lot to do.”
Ronan opened the mouth of the bag and threw the remaining potion into it. Asher, who hesitated for a moment, also started filling the sack.
****
It didn’t take long to fill the 20 sacks, but the problem was moving. Sweating profusely, they traveled back and forth between the riverside and the forest. Ronan let out an exclamation as he looked at the sack floating in the air.
“Oh, now I can write while moving.”
“Yeah…but…! A little… hard…!”
Asher was able to use telekinesis while moving, albeit immaturely. It was much more unstable than casting from immobility, but it was important to be able to do it anyway.
“Anyway, I want to see what kind of assholes they are. Isn’t it?”
“huh…? Ah yes…!”
Ronan grumbled. He was thinking about the shout that woke the goblins. It was all the fault of those unknown faces that Asher was injured and himself was covered in blood.
Anyway, as we talked, the time passed quickly. The two were moving the last sacks before they knew it. Asher, who had been walking forward, suddenly stopped in place.
“uh?”
thud! Suddenly Asher’s sack fell to the floor. Ronan asked, raising his eyebrows.
“what’s the matter?”
Asher was looking at the riverside through a gap in the trees with his eyes narrowed.
“…Isn’t that our raft?”
“what?”
Ronan turned his head in the direction Asher’s index finger pointed. Something was floating in the middle of the river. A shabby raft that I have seen many places. Ronan threw the sack and ran out.
“Oh shit!”
Asher hurriedly followed. Eventually, Ronan reached the riverside and found a raft loaded with sacks and two men giggling on it.
“Puhehehe! We are rich now!”
“It’s the same with that bird, and it’s a day when your luck turns! We too can become executives now!”
Judging by their behavior, they looked like adventurers or hunters. Their voices were so good that they could hear their conversation without difficulty even by the river.
Asher noticed that the men’s voices were like waking up Luna Goblins.
“That voice! Hey! stop!”
“You bastards no bigger than these orc balls!”
Ronan, who jumped into the water without hesitation, shouted loudly.
“Stand there! Thieves!”
“Eh? Have you ever seen an owner?”
“Yeah, that’s right. hey! We can use this!”
“I will kill you all!”
Veins welled up on Ronan’s forehead. He started swimming with the hilt in his mouth. Every time I stretched out my limbs, a rainbow flickered in the rising spray.
“Oh, you’re a good swimmer. But this body’s rowing skills are even more amazing.”
“Nungnomduru gave me something~”
Ronan’s swimming speed was unbelievably fast. However, it was narrowly short of the speed of the raft riding the current. The men twitched their hips and mocked Ronan.
At that time, Asher, who was running along the riverside along the raft, stopped. Because of the rough terrain, we could not go any further. He took a deep breath and stretched out his right arm.
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Stop… yo.”
The shape of the raft was hidden by the palm of my hand. The only spell he knew leaked from his lips.
“Ahh!”
At the same time, Asher’s body was dragged toward the river.
****
The first to notice the change was the man rowing the oars.
“Eh? what?”
“what’s the matter?”
“No, the raft isn’t moving?”
The men panicked and looked at the raft. On the surface, there was nothing wrong, but no matter how hard I rowed, I couldn’t move forward. As if someone is holding it.
“Uh…you mean?”
Only then did they see the demon approaching with a knife in its mouth.
“Hey!”
The gap that seemed distant was rapidly closing. Ronan’s face, which appeared regularly through the spray, was indescribably ferocious.
Feeling threatened, the men hurriedly drew their swords.
“Oh, you’re still young! There is nothing to be afraid of!”
“Yeah you bastard! If you value your life, go back now!”
Then Ronan disappeared beneath the surface. In the sudden silence, the men stood on alert with their backs to each other. Only the sound of flowing water and the sound of wind could be heard.
– Pong!
Then a mullet jumped out of the water. At the same time, Ronan, who rose up with a splash of water, landed on top of the raft. The sword he was biting into was already in his hand.
“These bastards! I’ll cut off your hand and put it in your ass!”
“Kill the Lord!”
The men ran. Asher, who had been staring at the raft all along, turned his head.
The sound of metal clashing soon turned into a ghastly scream that resounded above the river.
“Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, !!”
Ronan was sure to keep his promise. If you search downstream sometime tomorrow morning, you’ll find two bodies with hands stuck in their hips.
It was a terrible sight that I didn’t even want to imagine, but for some reason the corners of my mouth kept twitching.
“Ah…hahaha…”
The lower part of his body was cold. His body was submerged in water up to his waist. They were able to stop the raft only after driving it up to their ankles into the riverbed.
with a splash! Asher’s body fell backwards. Like a doll with a broken thread, I couldn’t lift a finger. The unlearned boy did not know that it was a mana depletion phenomenon.
He floated in the water and looked up at the blue sky. Ronan’s voice seemed to echo in his ears.
I was told there would be a lot of things that only you can do, but I didn’t know it would be this fast.
“It’s good. Experience in real life…”
The river wind was cool. The sun, which was clearly revealed, was dyeing the river golden.
The longest night of Asher’s life was over.
****
“Why is this bastard doing this again?”
“Ew…Ronan…I can’t move…”
Ronan rowed back alone.
He rescued Asher from floating on the water like a jellyfish and laid it on the raft. It seemed like she was completely exhausted from not being able to get up even when her side was tickled.
A corner of the raft was covered with bloodstains. Asher did not bother to ask what had become of the men. Ronan put the oar down and sat down on his bedside.
“Did you stop?”
“Yeah…”
“Good job man.”
Ronan started stabbing Asher in the side again. Asher laughed, feeling helpless and satisfied at the same time.
In addition to saying that he did well, he praised Asher by pointing out that his skills had improved unbelievably.
“Hick, stop that! Thank you very much.”
Out of Asher’s mouth, exhausted even when he had the strength to laugh, all that came out was a sound as if the wind was leaking. It was a remarkable development, even in his opinion.
Until a few days ago, even lifting a child was too much for them, but now they can stop the heavy raft. Everything that happened last night felt like a long dream.
“Voila.”
At that time, Ronan held out a wen sack in front of his eyes. Asher tilted his head.
“huh? This…doesn’t belong to us?”
“that’s right. It’s those thieves.”
Asel said, it was a sack that did not exist before. Unlike the ones the boys brought with them, they were made of much thicker and tougher leather. It was something left(?) by the men who tried to steal the raft.
“He desperately defended this. It looks like you stole something again before you came here.”
“Could it have something to do with the shouting in the forest?”
“You’ll know when you open it.”
Ronan untied the string sealing the bag. The knot was tied so tightly that I thought it would be better to cut it.
Ronan finally loosened the string and turned the bag upside down. Something bluish fell out.
