Golden Mage - Chapter 39
Volume 2, Episode 9
With a slight flicker, El’s body started to approach the Crown Prince at an incredible speed. The afterimage was left behind, showing just how fast El was.
In the blink of an eye, El closed in on the Crown Prince, who wore a noticeable look of surprise. Extending both hands, El cast the 5th-class close-range magic, “Big Vice Interposing Hand!”
A gigantic hand appeared before El’s hands!
If this hit, the Crown Prince would suffer for at least a year.
No, even if it hit the Crown Prince, the top-ranking deacons would swarm to heal him, and he would probably recover within a few months. Then, he would continue to play the part of the Crown Prince for a while.
Thinking about that, El put even more power into his hands. With that, the enormous hand, shining brightly, rushed toward the Crown Prince.
Just as the magic was about to hit the Crown Prince, he felt a sharp danger.
Sensing the danger, El quickly cast another spell.
“Blink!”
With the casting word, El vanished through a gap in space. But right after, a sword imbued with a bluish aura cut through El’s magic.
Shunk!
The force of the Oro Blade easily destroyed the 5th-class Big Vice Interposing Hand. Feeling sweat on his forehead, El realized he was in a precarious situation.
Suddenly, around the Crown Prince, ten knights with a faint golden aura and one hundred knights clad in silver armor appeared.
El directed his gaze at the knights wearing the faint golden aura.
They were the ones! The knights who had escorted the Crown Prince when he first met him.
Each of them had become Sword Masters, and their armor was imbued with magic metal, inscribed with lightweight and powerful magic runes. With such equipment, they could easily ignore magic below 3rd class and block 5th-class magic if they focused their strength on one point.
Individually, they seemed weaker than Viscount Rompell, whom El had faced before, but when two of them joined forces, they could easily overpower him. Their skills were not to be underestimated, and their attacking prowess was formidable enough to defeat even a dragon.
Seeing the ten knights, who seemed to be the leaders among the guards, El’s gaze shifted to them.
“Everyone, focus on protecting His Highness! The opponent is a 7th-class magician! Don’t let your guard down!”
“Roger!”
All the guards responded and conjured Oro Blades, guarding El cautiously.
“Oh no…”
Seeing ten Sword Masters, even El sighed softly, knowing it would be challenging to face them all at once, no matter how strong he was.
It would have been possible if he could call on the Golden Knight, but the Golden Knight was busy dealing with Duke Clive.
Should he give up like this?
Then, a worried voice came from behind him.
“Eli…”
El turned his gaze slightly and saw Cilfir looking at him with concern.
Cilfir said, “Shouldn’t we just let it go? The Crown Prince is too significant a figure to mess with.”
El smiled faintly at her words and reassured her, “Don’t worry. I have a plan.”
Then, he shifted his gaze back to the front.
El changed his mind. He didn’t need to insist on a direct confrontation.
His target was just one person: the Crown Prince.
“Ten Sword Masters. It’s true that it’s an overwhelming force, but there’s no need to engage them head-on.”
At that moment, numerous magic arrows began to form around El.
The Infinity Magic Arrow, which had previously defeated Viscount Einhart, was now being cast again.
“Infinity Magic Arrow!”
Phew! Hundreds of magic arrows shot towards the ground simultaneously.
Magic arrows cast by a 7th-class magician.
The immense power of Mannan’s response, which increased the destruction of other magicians’ spells, was carried over to the Magic Arrow.
El’s Magic Arrow had the power equivalent to a 3rd-class magic spell.
Though the Sword Masters had bodies like an armor, impervious to big impacts, they could be restrained by magic arrows.
Just like now.
“Block them!”
One of the knights shouted, and they all swung their swords quickly.
Crack! Crunch!
The magic arrows collided with their swords and shattered, but that was what El was aiming for.
Seeing the knights busy blocking the incoming magic arrows, they didn’t have the leeway to do anything else.
At that moment, El cast another spell. After the Fly Magic and the Magic Arrow, he now cast the third spell: Triple Casting.
El’s golden glasses shimmered slightly. It was the Magic Eye imbued with the magic “Magic Capture.”
Feeling the mana flow smoother, El completed the casting and used the magic.
“Force Hammer!”
Bang!
As soon as the knights tried to extend their Golden Swords, a huge hammer appeared behind the Crown Prince, where he had regained his composure.
Crash!
The Force Hammer swung towards the Crown Prince, tearing the air with a booming sound.
Feeling an unusual sensation, the Crown Prince turned his body, only to be astonished.
“Ugh!”
Despite his astonishment, the Force Hammer struck the Crown Prince mercilessly.
His body twisted like the letter ‘ㄱ’, and with foam at his mouth, the Crown Prince let out a desperate scream.
“Kuaaak!”
An overwhelming pain struck him!
When had he ever experienced such pain before?
As someone who always enjoyed the suffering of others, this pain was unfamiliar and terrifying to him.
Considering the trauma, sacred magic from the deacons might work, but internal injuries would take quite some time to heal.
El took that into account and turned the Crown Prince’s insides upside down with the Force Hammer.
Internal injuries wouldn’t be visible from the outside, after all.
Everyone’s attention was drawn to the Crown Prince when they heard his scream.
They called out to him worriedly, “Your Highness!”
Knights and guards gathered around the Crown Prince, and at that moment, the Magic Arrow ceased to exist.
Feeling a bit disappointed with the incessant nerve-wracking battle, Duke Clive burst into laughter as he watched the Crown Prince.
How could he not feel disappointed?
After a tedious battle, he finally unleashed his attack, and the arm just reattached as if nothing happened!
Duke Clive’s gaze turned toward El. El was also looking at Duke Clive.
El slightly lowered his head in response, taking out a silver coin with a faint blue glow. It was a Magic Capture-imbued coin. After a brief moment of contemplation, El gestured with his hand, and the blue light flowed, moving somewhere else.
Then, El broke the coin into pieces and said, looking at the fallen Viscount Einhart, “I said I would erase this, but I never said I wouldn’t duplicate it.”
