Golden Mage - Chapter 40
Volume 2 Chapter 10
The body of Viscount Einhart, lying down, trembled upon hearing those words.
El shifted his gaze to the Crown Prince. The Crown Prince, lying sprawled on the floor, unable to overcome the shock of the Force Hammer’s impact, was writhing in pain.
Looking at him with cold eyes, El spoke.
“Everything you’ve done is recorded in this Magic Capture. If you’re curious about its contents, ask Viscount Einhart. And if you try to chase me, I’ll spread this information far and wide.”
Then El turned his gaze back to Duke Klyne.
Lowering his head again, El said, “I didn’t intend for this disturbance to happen. I hope it never happened. Well….”
A blue light sparkled around El. At the same time, he shouted the incantation.
“Teleport!”
Swish!
With that, El and his party vanished, engulfed in a white vortex.
Duke Klyne watched their departure with a disappointed expression.
For a moment, he showed such a look, but soon he returned to his original self and looked around with a powerful aura.
The people around were overwhelmed by Duke Klyne’s presence.
Duke Klyne, who dominated the arena, spoke with a powerful mana-infused voice.
“Let’s all keep quiet about what happened today. These matters can become big problems for the Empire. We must keep today’s events a secret until we’re in our graves. Understand?”
“Yes, understood.”
One knight replied, and everyone else responded in agreement.
However, Duke Klyne knew as well. Even if he gave such an order, rumors could still spread.
Still, by doing this, at least the news would be kept to a minimum, and the Empire had the ability to manage such situations.
Thus, the commotion that occurred at Viscount Einhart’s had quietly subsided under the order to keep it a secret.
However, the full story of the event quietly, very quietly, spread through whispers.
A 7th Class Mage, the youngest to accompany the Grandmaster and the Golden Knight Golem, appeared on the continent.
That was how El’s first appearance became known, little by little, to everyone in a shocking manner.
Chapter 4: Designing the Future
Tap, tap.
A young boy rested his chin on his left hand and tapped the table with his right hand.
His slightly moving golden hair exuded both freshness and nobility, while his handsome face and sharp jawline gave him a mysterious air.
The boy, El, was lost in deep thought.
He recalled the tremendous commotion he had caused in the Blyard Empire.
He had almost razed Viscount Einhart, someone who could be considered the heart of the Empire, to the ground. And he had seriously wounded the Crown Prince, the future Emperor.
Nothing about it was ordinary. It was an outright heinous crime that he wouldn’t be able to excuse even if he were caught and had his head cut off.
However, El had escaped unscathed and grasped an advantage that would prevent the Blyard Empire from recklessly pursuing him. No, they wouldn’t be able to pursue him.
Through this incident, El had learned many things.
First, it was about his own abilities.
He could feel that his casting speed was overwhelmingly faster than others, and his combinations of magic were more outstanding than anyone else. If he added supplementary magic, he could become even stronger.
He also rediscovered the power of the Golden Knight.
He had vaguely expected to be able to face the Grandmaster, but he had truly engaged in a battle on par with Duke Klyne. It was a demonstration of the true power of the Golden Knight, which he had spent five years crafting with dedication.
If only he could mass-produce them, he might be able to conquer the world. However, creating a Golden Knight took about three years, not to mention the exorbitant cost of materials. Even if he wanted to make more, it would be impossible. Still, having a Grandmaster-level guard was better than anything.
Lastly, it was about the power of a group.
Although El had formidable individual power, there were many things that couldn’t be achieved with just personal strength in front of a group.
Take, for example, the Blyard Empire.
The Blyard Knights, known as the 71st Guard Division, consisted of fifty Sword Masters, with Duke Klyne, the Grandmaster, as their commander.
Furthermore, there were over a hundred Sword Masters scattered throughout the Empire.
If he fought them individually, El could win, but what if they united? He would never be able to win.
Realizing the difference between individual and group power, El knew that he needed to build his own force for the future.
When his thoughts piled up and intertwined, there was a knock on the door.
Knock, knock!
“El, are you asleep?”
It was Cilfir’s voice. By sensing the presence, it seemed that Serena and Kaina were also there.
El replied, “No, I’m not asleep. Come in.”
With his consent, Cilfir cautiously opened the door and entered the room. Serena and Kaina followed suit, behaving carefully.
El sensed that his attitude towards them had changed. It must have been difficult for them to adjust to the fact that the exceptional boy they knew had risen to a position where everyone admired him.
Heaving a small sigh, El looked at Cilfir and asked, “What brings you here?”
Sporting a bright expression, El asked Cilfir as the others showed curiosity.
“There’s something I’ve been thinking about, and since you and Serena and Kaina are here, I’d like to discuss it together.”
The women showed interest upon hearing El’s words.
“What is it? Tell us.”
“Well, I’ve been pondering about how to live from now on. Since I caused a great disturbance in the Blyard Empire, I can’t go back to Banjack and live like before.”
“That’s true.”
When the story about the Blyard Empire came up, Cilfir’s expression momentarily darkened, but she nodded her head.
And then, after briefly contemplating, she spoke to El.
“I can tell from bringing up this topic that you have something in mind, Eli.”
El nodded. He had already outlined the general plan before Cilfir entered.
Thud!
As he snapped his fingers, a spatial rift opened in the air. He reached inside and took out a continent map of the Serdia Empire.
