Golden Mage - Chapter 53
Volume 2, Chapter 23
And there, it could be seen.
The figure of a sorcerer, with golden hair fluttering in the air and a smile on his face. Despite looking very young for a sorcerer, the magic he was performing in the air was undoubtedly a Fly Magic.
The golden-haired sorcerer, El, looked at Kaina, who had just dealt with the troll warrior.
“Good job, Kaina. Your skills are impressive, aren’t they? We should find you a master to teach you the sword as soon as possible.”
“Oh, no. I’m still far from being good enough.”
Kaina’s face blushed slightly. It was a completely different look from her cold demeanor just moments ago.
El found her embarrassment endearing, as she was usually cold to others but felt shy only towards herself. He smiled at her.
“Hehehe! Alright then, if Kaina says so.”
El then turned his gaze towards the villagers.
“Rest assured. I have no intention of causing harm to any of you. I am a sorcerer who will provide you all with a peaceful life from now on. This place will become my territory, so you have nothing to worry about.”
The villagers didn’t say a word in response to his words. Or rather, they couldn’t dare to show any suspicion towards the sorcerer. They had imagined sorcerers as fearsome beings capable of manipulating elements like fire and water. They feared sorcerers more than knights.
It was Myder who broke the silence. Struggling to stand on his feet with the support of his spear, he asked, “What do you mean by this place becoming your territory?”
In response to his question, Kaina reacted.
“How dare you speak so impudently to our master…!”
She looked at Myder, who was disrespecting El, and her presence escalated.
El intervened, “Kaina, that’s enough!”
As he spoke, her intense presence suddenly vanished.
“Kaina, don’t be rude to our guests.”
Kaina’s overwhelming aura, combined with her exceptional sword skills, made her already a top-tier sword expert. But her Aura capacity exceeded even the highest level of a Sword Expert, making her truly formidable.
Kaina’s fury was restrained by El’s words.
“Ugh…”
As her aura subsided, Myder staggered back. It was impossible for him, with his current condition, to receive her overwhelming aura using his ordinary body.
It was El who stopped Kaina.
“That’s enough, Kaina!”
Her explosive aura disappeared as if washed away.
Kaina’s face, which had been embarrassed just a while ago, now showed a completely different, cold expression as she looked at Myder.
“Do not dare to behave rudely in front of our master.”
El knew Kaina’s past and her reclusive nature towards outsiders, so he let out a small sigh at the sight of her. Then, he turned to Myder, who was breathing heavily, and said:
“As I said before, don’t worry. You can continue to live as you always have. You can think of this territory as an ordinary land for now. Of course, it’s not comparable to the corrupt lords. After you drive out all the trolls, you can live in the wide open fields. As for taxes, we can discuss that later. Well, in my case, I don’t mind not receiving taxes, but there’s a connection to the kingdom, you know. Anyway, all I can say is that you now have the right to live happily. Just know that you belong to the territory of the Tower I will build.”
El looked into the distance where trolls were approaching. The villagers’ faces brightened up. His words meant that the sorcerer would eliminate all the trolls, guaranteeing safety.
But Myder wasn’t that pleased. He was suspicious. Although the sorcerer’s eyes didn’t feel evil, he knew that the sorcerer hadn’t shown all his cards yet.
‘This is an opportunity. The sorcerer’s eyes don’t feel sinister. Let’s trust him.’
Myder believed in his instincts. He bowed his head and said, “I apologize for doubting you.”
Seeing Myder’s reaction, El smiled slightly. It seemed that Myder held a significant position in the village.
El spoke again as he looked at the gathering of villagers:
“Thank you all for coming together. It seems you have all learned the same sword technique. What is happening here in Troll Valley?”
With El’s question, the atmosphere quickly became chilly.
Myder, who appeared to be in his mid-thirties and looked the oldest among them, let out a long sigh.
“Ah… As expected, you’re the sorcerer who wants to build a Tower. How did you figure it out?”
