Golden Mage - Chapter 56
**Episode 26, Volume 2**
EL shouted, “Tana! Don’t kill, capture!”
“My lord. Command received.”
Golden Knight’s blue radiance burst out from behind the visor of his helmet as he raised his Golden Sword.
Then, he dashed towards the Troll King like an arrow.
“Kreee!”
The Troll King, with its astonishing regenerative power, swung the broken club clenched in his dislocated arm, but he couldn’t directly face the Golden Knight. The blow he had just received was too severe.
The Golden Knight easily dodged the wooden club swung by the Troll King and struck him with a powerful blow using his black sword.
Whoosh!
Intense mana seeped into the Troll King, violently shaking his insides.
“Krrr…”
The Troll King, who had been holding on firmly, began to stagger.
Thud!
The 8-meter-tall giant collapsed, and a loud noise reverberated in the surroundings.
Watching the scene, EL let out a sigh of relief.
“Phew! How can he be so tough?”
EL was astonished at the Troll King’s tenacity to withstand the Golden Knight’s attacks. In response, he summoned three golems from another dimension.
Seeing the slow recovery of the golems, EL ordered them to carry the Troll King away.
Shortly after, fully recovered golems began carrying the Troll King on their backs.
Watching this, EL smiled quietly.
Chapter 8 – Extraordinary Specialties
“…”
The village representatives couldn’t close their gaping mouths. They were witnessing something extraordinary.
An enormous figure measuring 8 meters. Just looking at it was awe-inspiring.
“So, this is… the Troll King?”
Maydeer pointed to the Troll King with trembling hands.
Others were also shaken.
They never thought they would see such a thing. They vaguely expected the Troll King to be just a larger version of a regular troll.
But what was this? It was easily twice the size of an ogre. Moreover, the faint aura emanating from its entire body made it even more imposing than the rumors suggested.
“You can tell just by looking at it, right? It was quite a struggle to capture it…”
EL’s words elicited various expressions from the village representatives – astonishment, wonder, awe, and more.
Maydeer asked with a curious expression, “How strong is the Troll King?”
Others also wore inquisitive expressions.
The known strength of the Troll King was said to be around Sword Master level, but its size and the aura it exuded hinted at a power beyond that.
EL, who couldn’t refuse any questions, answered about the Troll King’s strength.
“Stronger than a Sword Master. Almost Grandmaster level.”
“….”
Silence filled the air. Everyone looked at the Troll King with disbelief in their eyes.
Who would have thought its strength would be close to Grandmaster level!
Maydeer’s voice trembled as she asked, “I-is that true?”
“It should be.”
While answering, EL looked around at the village representatives and then smiled.
“Now that we’ve successfully captured the Troll King, it’s time to drive out the trolls from this valley. People who will help construct the tower will be coming soon, so all of you need to cooperate as much as possible.”
EL’s words about capturing the Troll King resounded among the village representatives. The news about its strength being close to Grandmaster level also spread rapidly.
The village representatives felt they had no choice but to follow EL’s instructions. His drive and attitude to keep his promises were evident, and they could feel his determination.
“We understand.”
“Thank you for cooperating with my wishes.”
Everyone followed his lead, and EL slowly began to reveal his plans.
As they listened to his story, their faces gradually turned into expressions of amazement.
Time passed in the blink of an eye. Three months had transformed Troll Valley drastically.
Firstly, the disappearance of the Troll King caused the trolls in Troll Valley to disperse. The trolls, who were once united under the Troll King’s leadership, vanished from the area where the Troll King used to stay. They usually resided in caves, and they moved away from the valley due to its absence.
Taking advantage of this situation, people from Debell Top set up a stronghold and installed a teleportation gate to Troll Valley. With the help of Cilfir, they brought the rescued people through the teleportation gate.
Debell Top paid a considerable sum, and the tower constructors brought valuable materials to start building the tower.
With EL’s magic and the golems’ power, the tower began to take shape rapidly.
In addition to the tower, EL also built a massive building beside it.
The building was large enough to accommodate tens of thousands of people and was quickly constructed with the help of a few more labor golems made by EL.
Occasionally, Knight Golems disappeared, capturing the trolls and putting them inside the building.
Finally, after three months, the valley area surrounding the tower and the building was completely settled.
Trolls in the vicinity were almost wiped out.
The building accommodated the residents of twelve villages, totaling nearly 15,000 people.
The numerous construction workers quickly developed the area with careful planning.
“Now the outlines are taking shape.”
EL sat back comfortably and opened his mouth after enjoying some tea. On the opposite side, Cilfir, Serena, and Kaina were calmly sipping their tea.
“But there’s still a lot to do.”
“That’s right. It’s just the beginning.”
When Serena asked with curiosity, “What are you planning to do next?”
“What else? Now, to perfect the tower, I need to establish a reliable source of materials and build friendly alliances.”
“Friendly alliances?”
Serena looked puzzled, and EL’s smile deepened.
“Yes, friendly alliances. There’s a very close place nearby, a very close place…”
EL’s gaze was directed towards the east.
Count Rubius’s domain.
Located in the western part of the Tollian Kingdom, it bordered the sea to the north, making it an area rich in seafood. However, due to the lack of wizards in the Tollian Kingdom, they were unable to export the seafood, making it a very impoverished territory.
Recently, the Rubius family produced two geniuses. The first was the magical genius, Leian Rubius, and the second was Rowelin Rubius.
Despite this, the Rubius family was struggling to survive. They faced a near-fatal blow due to attacks by unknown enemies.
Leian’s younger brother, Louis Rubius, who was thought to be missing, was the one who saved the Rubius family from ruin. With his remarkable management skills, he revived the domain and earned recognition as the lord.
Louis Rubius’s marriage proposal to Countess Rubius had a hidden intention. If the Rubius family became part of Terrandel Viscounty, the entire western region would fall under Terrandel’s influence.
Hence, despite her infatuation with Count Rubius, Rubius Viscountess was not giving in to the proposal. She valued the preservation of her family’s name and would not do anything shameful.
Thus, without support from the central army, she was directly facing the orcs pouring in from the Orc Forest.
Every year, about 100,000 orcs would swarm out of the forest. The Rubius domain did not directly confront them, but still faced the orcs in relatively small numbers.
It was a challenge to stop 10,000 orcs with only 10,000 troops. They could have mobilized more troops, but due to the poverty of the territory, they couldn’t afford to maintain a larger army.
A thousand troops against 10,000 orcs were a formidable challenge. Although they relied on the walls, the orcs found a way to get past it by using ladders. Even though hundreds or thousands of arrows were raining down, it was impossible to stop the orcs from climbing the walls.
“Stop them! Block the orcs from climbing the walls!”
Rowelin swung her azure-tinged sword and shouted. Her armor was splattered with the blood of the orcs she had cut down.
