Golden Mage - Chapter 89
Volume 3, Episode 29
On the continent stands the mighty Empire of Velosek, the birthplace of human civilization in the east. People gathered and formed a civilization along the Euphlias River, known as the Grace of the Gods, and Velosek became the first empire to establish a feudal system, solidifying its position as the strongest nation on the continent.
The Velosek Empire truly lives up to its title as the mightiest on the continent, with a territory about twice the size and a national power about twice as great as the other four empires. Indeed, it is no exaggeration to call it the mightiest empire.
Of course, having vast territory and great power alone doesn’t earn the title of the mightiest. In the current continent, the first measure of power is the presence of Matap (stronghold), followed by the existence of Grand Masters.
The other empires each have one Grand Master, an elite knight with exceptional talents who has been assembled through tremendous support. However, Velosek Empire boasts an incredible three Grand Masters.
These three individuals, with a history spanning over a thousand years and having achieved the rank of Grand Master through the vision and swordsmanship of renowned swordmasters, are ranked among the top ten Grand Masters on the continent. Their swords have been honed to perfection through intense training, making them truly the mightiest knights of the continent.
Moreover, Velosek Empire has over ten Mataps in existence. Among them, there are two 8th-class magician-erected Mataps and more than ten 7th-class magician-erected Mataps.
Truly, there is no shortage of reasons to call it the mightiest on the continent.
The one ruling the empire is the Emperor known as the Son of God. Possessing immeasurable power, with a single word, the Emperor can influence the lives of millions. Undoubtedly, the Emperor is the highest authority in the empire.
However, the current Emperor of Velosek Empire is far from invulnerable. With the early death of the previous Emperor and the enthronement of a young Emperor, three extraordinary individuals and two Matap lords have taken power.
The nobles of the empire firmly established their foundation, calling those who held absolute power Lords. The power they enjoyed was almost on par with that of the Emperor, a title that befits their status.
In a spacious conference room that can easily accommodate hundreds of people, ten individuals who held the real power of Velosek Empire were gathered.
Among them, five were referred to as Lords, but surprisingly, none of them occupied the main seat. Instead, a young man in his early twenties sat there.
With a constant smile on his face, the youth created an exceedingly relaxed atmosphere, making it difficult for the people before him to raise their heads.
Observing their reactions, it was truly astonishing. All of them were Grand Masters and great magicians, individuals who held immense authority throughout the continent. Yet, they couldn’t lift their heads before this young man in their presence. It was an unexpected sight.
The youth waved his hand slightly, prompting them to raise their heads.
“Ah, as always, don’t be too intimidated by me. Isn’t the atmosphere like this every time you face me? Everyone, look up.”
As the youth finished speaking, the heads of those who had been bowing reflexively rose. They couldn’t help but be reminded of obedient puppies, and the youth smiled faintly, stroking his chin.
“Oh, well, we gathered here for a reason, so let’s get to it. Naizen.”
“Yes, Master!”
In response to the youth’s call, Naizen, the Lord of Chongtap, bowed deeply. The youth then informed Naizen of something he had promised before.
“When you go to the Papal Office, tell them about the Golems, remember?”
Naizen quickly nodded. “Yes, yes!”
“That Golem was created by weaving advanced layered magic. It is a Golem that shouldn’t exist in the current age of magic, or even during the era when the Magic Empire ruled the continent, dominated by dragons.”
Naizen’s expression showed astonishment. A Golem that didn’t exist even during the era of dragon dominion? How incredible must that magic be? He was surprised at the unexpected revelation.
“Um, well….”
As Naizen struggled to respond, the youth gently raised his hand. “Well, there’s no need to be so shocked. I’ll let you take out that secret soon enough. Just be patient and wait for it.”
“Yes, Master.”
Upon Naizen’s respectful response, the youth turned to Karosman and Duke Truel, who were also present.
“I’m sorry about the failed assassination of King Tolian last time. But that matter is intertwined with the Gold Tap’s affairs, so don’t worry too much about it. I’ve heard that Gold Tap has been paying considerable attention to it… Am I right?”
The youth’s eyes shone with a deep blue light.
Upon meeting his gaze, Karosman and Duke Truel felt their bodies stiffen, overcome by an infinite sense of fear. They could clearly feel the absolute fear emanating from the Master before them. They understood that there was no secret they could keep from him and no one to oppose him.
Karosman and Duke Truel both stood up from their seats without a word, bowing deeply.
“I-I apologize, Master!”
When they honestly confessed, the youth’s pupils returned to their original color, and he gestured with a slight wave of his hand.
“No need to apologize. I just don’t want you to hold a grudge against Gold Tap. Understand?”
They quickly responded, “Yes, Master.”
“Okay, okay. Let’s leave complicated matters here. I noticed that you were all rather stiff around me, wondering who I am. I’m Louis. I’m not going anywhere with that name.”
The youth’s name, Louis, caused everyone to freeze.
Louis, the 9th-class Master, a great mage who reached the level of transcendence that no one had achieved since the creation of heaven and earth and the development of magic.
Everyone looked at Louis with a stiff expression.
Louis, the man who possessed god-like abilities surpassing even dragons, stood before them as a young man.
Seeing their reactions, Louis grinned widely.
“A new era is about to begin. A world where you only survive if you are strong, not a world of flattery and favoring your parents! I will create that world! Ahahaha!”
Louis’s laughter filled the conference room, creating a gust of wind that heralded the new era.
