Helmut: The Forsaken Child - Chapter 483
# 483
Helmut Episode
483
Around the same time, the monsters succeeded in climbing onto the barrier one by one.
The number is gradually increasing. The defense line will soon be breached.
But as the bastards bared their teeth at the humans, a light flashed.
“Aria of lightning!”
Quagwagwang!
With a loud noise, several monsters that had been hit directly by the magic fell out.
“Let me borrow your sword for a moment.”
Levant took the sword from the fallen knight and rushed at the monster.
Having regained his strength, he was a powerful paladin even without the holy sword.
Levant’s sword, loaded with divine power, cut down the enemies mercilessly.
“Levant is back!”
Leaving behind the joyous cries of the priests.
“Good timing?”
Asuka then jumped onto the barrier.
Damn it!
The monster with frozen wounds fell down the barrier.
Luke Yeager, who looked around, also rushed towards the monster and shouted at the fallen knight.
“Are you a member of the Knights of Palma? “If you are injured, stay back!”
“Yes, Commander!”
Xian stood under the barrier. As he reached out to the ground, tree vines grew from the floor on the forest side of Pahe, wrapping around the damaged barrier and shaking off the climbing monsters.
Area’s hand, which unleashed attack magic, reached the fallen mercenary with his stomach pierced.
The wound healed in an instant. The mercenary bowed his head and expressed his gratitude.
“I thought I was going to die, but thank you.”
“you.”
Alea narrowed her eyes. He was a fairly famous mercenary who had fought with Helmut in a tournament. The name
was… ‘Hutton.’
Hutton burst into laughter. The color returned to my pale face.
“I received a request from Linosa, and I thought my life would end here. Well, dying while fighting is a very fitting fate for a mercenary.”
I accepted the request even though I knew it would be a difficult task, but deep down I was confident in my own skill.
I never thought I would be put in such a dizzying situation and barely survive. I didn’t even dream about it.
Area responded coldly.
“I’m alive, so it means I have to fight more. “Stand back and let your body recover.”
“yes.”
Now they had to protect this place. Area looked at the other side of the barrier.
Helmut was coming.
‘It starts again as soon as I come out.’
It also arrived at the right time in an urgent situation. Their role will only end once they finish protecting the Wall.
It is not too late to enjoy a peaceful rest afterwards.
Before she knew it, Helmut had soared over the barrier and landed next to her.
“Let’s finish it quickly.”
Area nodded at his words.
Now that I had finally returned after going through all those hardships, there was nothing to be afraid of.
They were together. In the future too.
* * *
Only after a month had passed since the sacred barrier disappeared did the monsters’ attacks stop.
It was only after countless monsters were defeated that the barrier was finally recognized as something absolute that could not be overcome.
It is unclear whether the offensive has stopped for a while or whether it will surge again, but for now, there is a lull.
With that, the Second Demon War ended and the human world found stability.
The sacred barrier has disappeared, but the land of monsters and humans is still divided by a barrier.
Pahe’s Forest was still an unknown land and would remain so for a long time.
As far as the wall was concerned, it was agreed that troops would be dispatched immediately in case of emergency. Each country will send troops to protect the wall.
And the heroes who returned alive from the forest of Pahe. Helmut Area Sian Askar Luke Jaeger Levant.
The names of those who died and those who returned alive were written separately on the tombstones. As a warrior who defeated the devil.
It was strange to see the names of the temple’s public servant Heike and the high priest Levina side by side.
Ygrel’s whereabouts are unknown. It is thought to be alive somewhere in the forest of Pahe.
So did the other two rulers, Kantra and Baharek.
It was a long and tough fight. At the end, Helmut and his party dispersed and returned to their original places.
They didn’t know what the future would hold, whether they would be checked or treated in their home country, but they were heroes.
It was time for them to return with honor as heroes who saved the world and move on to their own lives.
If we each chart our own forward trajectories, we will definitely intersect at some point.
Once or more.
A new light was falling. It was a dazzling morning after a dark dawn.
Epilogue
Finn, a young man who had just turned 20, took the first step toward his long dream a year ago.
He saved the money he earned from working for a mercenary group and opened his own store at an earlier age than others.
He revealed his ambition by opening a small tavern selling food and alcohol.
‘I’m going to grow this store and open a big restaurant that even the royal family frequents!’
Actually, doing business was not easy.
I was confident in my skills, but it was a tavern located in a corner of a small city. It was not easy to get noticed by customers.
But as time passed, it was resolved naturally.
As word spread around the upper part of the place where members of the Face Mercenaries often stop by, the number of customers increased and regulars slowly began to appear in the village.
Then there was a certain day.
As the sun set, Finn opened the store.
The commercial trip that stopped by yesterday has also left and it will be quiet for a while.
Not long after, a customer entered the store.
“welcome!”
As Finn’s booming voice rang out, the customer took off the hood covering his head.
The moment Finn saw him, he was startled.
“what?”
Finn’s eyes widened and he held up a finger.
He was a familiar person. Not only was the extremely handsome face, but the atmosphere was like that. Black hair as dark as darkness and black eyes.
It was an unforgettable face if you saw it even once.
“I told you to come when I open a restaurant.”
Only then did Finn remember his name.
“Hel…Moot?”
“that’s right.”
Finn didn’t have a very good memory. But he also had a memory that he always kept.
A friend who gave me a new dream. The same Helmut from five years ago was here.
“How can we get here…”
“I heard it from Tanya. “I stopped by during my trip.”
Helmut looked around and calmly sat down in the seat in front of Finn.
Finn looked at him with bewildered eyes.
The luxurious attire hidden beneath the black cloak was noticeable. Helmut is a swordsman of great skill, so it was not surprising that he received the title.
“The outfit… You’ve just become a noble? “Have you become a nobleman?”
It has been a year since I left the Face Mercenaries.
Occasionally members of the Face mercenary group stopped by, so we were in touch, but since they were not mercenaries, the news was dark.
Besides, they haven’t been to Finn’s tavern lately. Everyone said they left for the front lines in Pahe Forest.
“I became a nobleman. But… I’m here as Helmut, so there’s no need to worry.”
Helmut took a quick look inside the tavern.
Five years ago, Finn was a timid boy who didn’t fit in with a mercenary.
Although it was small, I was thrilled to see that he had opened a store as he had promised.
The lives of two people, extending in completely different directions, intersected here beyond memories.
Finn smiled and rolled up his forearms. Unlike the mercenaries, his forearms, trained through chores, were tingling.
“Okay, since it’s been a long time coming, I’ll show off my skills! “Look forward to it!”
After he disappeared into the kitchen, someone entered the tavern.
Area, a beautiful silver-haired wizard wearing dark green robes, naturally sat across from Helmut.
“Did you order food?”
“The chef said he would show off his skills.”
“Oh yeah? “Isn’t that the person you said was the first friend you made?”
“that’s right.”
Area smiled brightly. The two looked at each other for a moment.
They were traveling. I was also on vacation.
After taking care of all the urgent matters, all that remained was to return to Linosa.
There, Helmut will walk his path as successor.
The Archduke of Linosa willingly granted freedom to Helmut, who had requested a reprieve.
‘You have completed your part well. I’ll give you a year, so take enough rest and come back. Or… you don’t have to come back.’
That didn’t mean that Helmut didn’t want to be Linosa’s successor.
It meant that if you didn’t want to, you could leave and live freely.
Helmut no longer had a seed of darkness. Restrictions are gone.
Now there was no need to bring up the weapon and justification of Rinosa.
Because he was a hero who saved the world.
‘All right.’
Suddenly a memory came to mind.
It was a moment of freedom when I came to Baden. That time suddenly came to mind.
It was an opportunity. A chance to leave everything behind and wander wherever your feet take you.
Helmut decided to enjoy the one year he was given to the fullest. As if it was natural, Area was with them.
Area asked.
“Where should we go next?”
“Well, let’s take a look at the map.”
“If I wander around aimlessly like this, I might end up in Pahe Forest.”
“I’ll go when I get there. “I wonder what happened there.”
“Should we try crossing the continent? Crossing the sea…”
“That’s okay too.”
The plan was to slowly discuss how to proceed from now on.
What lies before them are numerous possibilities. And because it was an endless road.
Of course, the training is not going to stop either.
After defeating the Demon King, Helmut grew again as a swordsman.
I wanted to see how far I could reach as a prosecutor.
Someday Helmut will surpass Elaga. Elagaga was the last thing left in his memory.
If that happens, Helmut will rise to the top where no one needs to surpass him. He was looking at the peak as if he had drawn it.
Although it may be a difficult and arduous path, there will be no difficulties as it has already been walked countless times.
“Now, the hot food came out… ugh!”
Finn, who saw Area’s appearance, screamed as if possessed by a ghost.
I was glad I didn’t spill the dish. He asked as he managed to place the bowl on the table.
“Who are you?”
“My fiancee.”
“It’s called Area.”
Finn hurriedly bent down towards Area, who lightly raised his hand.
“This is Pi Finn.”
He immediately gave Helmut a strange look. Where did you get a fiancee like this?
Complex thoughts went through Finn’s mind as he gauged Helmut’s success based on that alone.
He immediately turned his back and went into the kitchen.
“I’ll finish serving the meal!”
After he disappeared, the conversation continued again.
It was a cozy and warm time talking about everything from the near future to the distant future.
The sun completely set and the darkness surrounding the tavern gradually deepened.
In the restful darkness, the lights of the tavern were shining brightly.
Just as even a faint light feels bright in the thick darkness.
It was the light that Helmut desperately grabbed in the pitch-black darkness.
Review
This concludes Helmut Part 2. There’s still more to come, but I wanted to say hello here.
Two years have already passed since I started serializing Helmut.
I may want to write a third part of the story someday, so I won’t confirm it as ‘complete!’, but this is where the main story I envisioned ends.
I feel very new now that I have taken steps one step at a time over the past two years and finally finished one story.
As I was writing almost 500 novels for the first time, there were times when I felt overwhelmed, but in the end, I was able to finish it successfully, so I don’t think I’ll have any regrets.
Just as light and darkness coexist, finding hope in despair, knowing the value of filling the place of loss, and being reborn from the bottom.
Even if there was sadness and pain, I wanted to write a story that had joy at the end.
Thank you to all the readers who have been with us on this long journey.
