Inheriting the Throne of the Underworld - Chapter 0
Chapter 0 – Prologue
The Underworld has crumbled.
It happened exactly 50 years after the dawn of the Hunter era.
Even Yeomra, the god of death, ultimately fell at the hands of humans.
It was the twilight of the world beyond.
The fiery cauldrons of Hell cooled down, and the 1*Samdocheon River, tended by Jijang Bosal, dried up.
In the 2*Seocheon Flower Field, where once bloomed a profusion of colorful blossoms— only withered petals were now scattered like ashes.
The three-day funeral was not long.
It was but a fleeting moment to commemorate the long ages of mythology.
White smoke listlessly rose from the burnt-out incense.
I wept constantly, mourning my second father, who had vanished like smoke.
It wasn’t just the grief of losing Yeomra, whom I had regarded as my father.
It was the suffocating sense of loss that threatened to consume me.
The end of the Underworld signified the end of good and evil.
Now, the wicked would not be judged even in death.
The poor and virtuous would not find happiness even in the Underworld.
The mythology was over now.
A world had arrived where even death was unfair.
Those who seized power would enjoy eternal life, while those who were oppressed would vanish without reincarnating.
The loss of mythology would erase the traces of good and perpetuate the atrocities of evil.
