Sand Mage of the Burnt Desert - Chapter 100
Sand Mage Of The Burnt Desert Chapter 100
Episode 100
: Zeon was a strongman in the desert.
In the desert, Zeon had nothing to fear.
Neither the magical beasts walking on the sand nor the unknown monsters living underground gave him fear.
However, experiencing a mega city for the first time gave Zeon a vague sense of fear.
The huge wall surrounding Neo Seoul was a wall of despair that Zeon could never overcome.
I knew that a new world existed if I could just overcome that barrier. But he was not given the qualifications to pass through that huge door.
So, Neo Seoul felt like a mirage.
The fact that I was in such neo-Seoul did not feel real.
It felt like I was in a half-sleep just before waking up from a dream. But Zeon soon came to his senses.
“I got emotional too.”
Zeon smiled and walked away.
Neo Seoul, which I saw in person, was huge.
It was much bigger and more spectacular than I had vaguely imagined from the outside.
The streets stretched straight like a checkerboard, and each block was filled with tall buildings.
Vehicles large and small were driving on the streets, and various signs and flashy electronic displays were confusing the view.
It was a perfect environment for first-time visitors to lose their destination and get lost. However, Zeon moved forward without hesitation.
This is because I learned about the geography of Neo Seoul through Mandy and Kim Sang-sik.
Neo Seoul was largely divided into five districts.
It consists of a central district where the city hall is located and four districts to the north, south, east, west and west.
The central area where City Hall was located was the center of Neo Seoul.
All roads in Neo Seoul headed straight to this central area, and conversely, they stretched out like a spider’s web from the central area to each district.
There were no set boundaries for each area.
People just implicitly recognized this place as either the North District or the South District.
The place Zeon was heading to was the border area between the central area and the eastern area.
This place, filled with apartments, was where many ordinary people lived.
Apartment complexes, both past and present, had the optimal conditions for the common people to live in.
This is because it is the structure that can cram the largest number of common people into a limited amount of land.
At first glance, it seemed no different from the buildings in the slums, but it was far superior in terms of convenience and security.
“This is it.”
Zeon walked towards one of the towering apartments.
“Stop right there.”
But before he could pass through the front door, someone stopped him.
It was a guard guarding the apartment.
The guards were armed with personal firearms.
It was of little use against demonic beasts or awakened people, but it was enough to intimidate ordinary people.
There were guards stationed like this in each apartment or public place.
They strictly controlled who came and went.
The guard said, looking Xeon up and down.
“This is my first time seeing you. What business do you have here?”
“I came to meet someone.”
“who?”
“Mandy Cysteine. “I live in this apartment.”
“Is there a prior arrangement?”
“no.”
“Then you can’t go in.”
“Could you please contact me?”
The guard frowned and responded to Zeon’s words.
“We can’t let anyone in unless we get a direct call from inside.”
“I am her acquaintance. “If you contact them, they will definitely ask you to come in.”
“joy! “There are no exceptions.”
The guard snorted.
Even at a glance, it seemed like they were ignoring Zeon.
The guard’s power in the apartment was quite large.
This is because you cannot enter without permission from the guard responsible for safety.
Zeon made an embarrassed expression.
This is because I never expected that I would encounter difficulties from the moment I entered the apartment.
There was nothing you couldn’t do if you overpowered the guard and entered, but doing so would attract the attention of those around you.
“Tsk!”
It was time for Zeon to click his tongue and look around.
Quaaaang!
Suddenly, flames erupted and exploded not far from the apartment.
In an instant, the guard’s expression changed completely.
“Fuck! “Again?”
“what do you mean? “Again?”
“I don’t know? “It’s a turf war.”
The guard got angry at Zeon’s question.
“Territory war? Are you saying that there is a war between districts?”
“Fuck! Are you asking because you don’t know? “It happens every day here.”
“hmm!”
Zeon’s eyes sank deeply.
Honestly, Neo Seoul seen from the slums was very peaceful.
It seemed like there would be no conflict here.
But this was also a place where people lived.
Just like in the slums, conflicts between humans were taking place here as well.
However, disputes are allowed only in the four zones: East, West, South, and North.
Disruption in the central area where the city hall is located is not tolerated by any force or human being.
If a problem arises in the central area, awakeners directly under City Hall are dispatched and suppressed.
If the problem is judged to be serious, an execution unit directly under the mayor moves in.
The moment the execution unit moves, a wind of blood blows in Neo Seoul.
No matter how much you are the ruler of each district, you cannot ignore the execution squad.
The execution unit was made up of at least A-class to S-class awakened people, and each had incredible characteristics.
Because of this, even the rulers of each district viewed the execution squad with distaste.
Quack!
A huge explosion occurred once again.
The flames soared high into the sky, turning the sky of Neo Seoul red.
However, this explosion occurred much closer than before.
The guard looked at the place where the explosion occurred with nervous eyes.
“Fuck! If this continues, won’t we end up getting caught up in the fight here?”
Although the guard existed to block external threats, it had no ability to stop the awakened ones from fighting.
At that moment, another explosion occurred.
bang!
“Kaaak!”
“Kek! “You crazy bitch… run away!”
Afterwards, people’s urgent screams were heard.
After a while, the commotion died down as if it had never happened before.
“Is it… finished?”
The guard muttered, loosening his grip on the gun.
His whole body was already drenched in sweat.
That’s how nervous I was.
It was then.
“no way! “What’s this about you bastards?”
Someone walked this way with a grumbling voice.
The woman walking towards me, wiping the blood from her head and shoulders, held a large spear in her hand.
When the woman touched the handle of the spear, the spear folded and turned into a single pole.
The woman wore the dagger behind her waist and wiped the blood from her body with her hand.
“I feel so uncomfortable. “I have to take a bath first.”
Grumbling, she approached the entrance to the apartment where Xeon and the guard were standing.
A smile appeared on Zeon’s lips.
“long time no see.”
“who? ok! “Why are you here?”
The woman opened her eyes and looked at Zeon.
Zeon approached her.
“Mandy! “Is it Eloi?”
“and! Fuck. It’s true. “I didn’t see anything.”
“It’s Eloi. “You were the one in the fight a little while ago, after all.”
“ah! There’s a conflict with the elves. “More than that, how did you get in here?”
“I came to meet you.”
“okay? “Then let’s go inside first.”
Elroy took Zeon to the entrance of the apartment.
gulp!
The guard who saw that scene swallowed dry saliva.
This is because he did not know what kind of disaster he would face if Eloi found out that he had stopped Zeon.
Even at first glance, Eloy seemed strong.
Those wild eyes, the powerful force felt throughout the body, and the blood that dyed the entire body red were all too daunting for a single guard to handle.
At that time, Zeon tapped the guard on the shoulder.
“Relax. Because nothing will happen.”
“yes? four!”
“Can I come in?”
“of course.”
The guard answered loudly.
Zeon passed by him with a grin.
Eloi asked Zeon.
“What happened here?”
“no.”
“joy! okay?”
“You said you fought with an elf?”
“uh! “These days, these things are causing a little bit of trouble.”
“Is the North District the problem?”
“I don’t know! “I don’t know if the Ice Queen is neglecting it or if the people outside of her control are running wild, but it is true that they are causing a lot of trouble these days.”
When elves were mentioned, Eloi’s eyes glowed fiercely.
Her hatred toward elves still remained.
Click!
“This is my house!”
She said as she opened the door to her house.
Eloi’s house was the size of Zeon’s house.
The inside of the house was simple, without any common decorations.
It felt desolate as there were only the necessary furniture and appliances.
“It’s unsightly, isn’t it?”
In an instant, Elroy’s tone changed.
A different personality from before appeared. But Zeon was not surprised.
“Are you Mandy?”
“yes!”
“I’m sorry for coming by unexpectedly.”
“no. “But what brings you here?”
“I came to ask you a favor.”
Mandy looked interested in Zeon’s polite words.
This was because, from what she understood, Zeon was never the type of person to ask someone for favors.
“What can I ask you for?”
“Please find out about this person called Tajik.”
“Tajik? “Is this a person’s name?”
“yes!”
“Anything else?”
“For now, all I know is his name.”
“hmm!”
Mandy frowned.
There are more than 20 million people living in Neo Seoul.
Finding a Tajik among them was close to impossible.
Of course, if you are an ordinary person.
Mandy was no ordinary person.
She is recognized for her abilities at Neo Seoul and works as a supervisor.
You can access the central area database as much as you want.
Of course, some risk had to be taken.
After gathering her thoughts for a moment, she answered carefully.
“all right. “I’ll find out.”
“really? thank you.”
“Because I owe you money too.”
If it weren’t for Zeon, I wouldn’t have survived in the desert.
I felt more comfortable using this opportunity to pay off my debt.
“How long will it take to find out the information?”
“It won’t take that long. “If he is an important or dangerous person, the information will be posted at City Hall.”
“is it so?”
“We will be able to find out by tomorrow afternoon at the latest. “Please stay here until then.”
“I can’t be indebted to you that much. “Is there anywhere I can stay nearby?”
“There’s a pretty big hotel two blocks north. “It would be worth staying as long as you don’t go to the underground casino.”
“casino? “Is there something like that?”
“It is mainly visited by people who can make a living. And then I was devastated. So it’s best not to go in in the first place.”
“all right. “Then I’ll be staying at the hotel, so please contact me as soon as you find out.”
“yes!”
Zeon bowed slightly to Mandy and then went out.
He headed to the hotel Mandy told him about.
Two blocks north, we saw a beautiful building made entirely of tempered glass.
It was the hotel Mandy was talking about.
Zeon entered the hotel.
There were many people walking around in the hotel lobby.
Since there is a casino in the basement of the hotel, there are quite a lot of visitors.
It was time for Zeon to go through the crowd and head to the front desk.
“huh?”
Lee Chae appeared in Zeon’s eyes.
A group of awakened people walking right in front of him caught his attention.
A man with a cynical expression followed by a middle-aged man carrying a huge claymore on his back, a woman with blue hair, and a giant boasting enormous size.
Zeon recognized them at a glance.
‘The world is such a small place.’
