The Celestial Returned From Hell - Chapter 135
Chapter 135
Christopher thanked Choi Yeonseung with a glance. Unlike Maximilian, he wasn’t used to this type of sleazy media, but he didn’t think Choi Yeonseung would help him either.
‘He at least has some decency.’
This person dared catch him and forced him to cooperate, which was disgusting, but he seemed to have basic decency, at least.
“Why did you pick Hunter Choi Yeonseung among so many hunters? As a rookie, don’t you think there are more suitable opponents for you?”
One of the reporters asked a pointed question. Without a grudge or desire for revenge, newcomer Christopher would have no reason to apply for a match with Choi Yeonseung.
Whisper whisper.
“That’s true.”
“No matter how I think about it, isn’t it revenge for Maximilian?”
“If so, then why did Choi Yeonseung protect him?”
“Did he get paid?”
Choi Yeonseung clapped, imbuing his hands with internal energy to make the impact even more intense. As a result, a strong wind burst out with a ‘bang!’ Shocked, the reporters shut up. “The answer is simple. He wants to learn something.”
“……??”
Christopher looked at Choi Yeonseung, seemingly finding what he just said absurd.
‘No, my master wanted to test you!’
Christopher wasn’t trying to learn from him—the elf constellation was just testing Choi Yeonseung. When did Christopher say he wanted to learn from Choi Yeonseung?
“Is that true, Hunter Christopher?”
“Please answer! Hunter Christopher!”
The reporters prodded excitedly. The reason for the match was completely different from what they had expected, but it was really interesting.
-Christopher Winter reveals that he ‘wants to learn something…’
-Shocked by the defeat of a fellow household member! The Arrogant Light Elf constellation is worse than expected!
-Christopher Winter reveals that he has nothing to learn from the Arrogant Light Elf…
Provocative headlines had already surfaced.
“… Maybe you can say that… I don’t know…”
Christopher grunted his acceptance. As a household member, the orders given by their constellation couldn’t be made public to others. For now, he had to do what it took to fight Choi Yeonseung. He was grateful for what Choi Yeonseung did, but that had already completely disappeared.
“?”
Christopher’s glare puzzled Choi Yeonseung, but he nodded as if he understood.
‘You don’t have to thank me. I can do this for you.’
Choi Yeonseung waved calmly as if it was okay. Hence, Christopher couldn’t calmly get over it.

“Aren’t too many people considering it done in a hurry?”
“You should be satisfied. That’s proof that you’re doing well.”
Aine patted Choi Yeonseung’s back with a bit of happiness on her face. The number of people gathered in the huge amphitheater prior to a match indicated a hunter’s popularity. The people came here entirely because of Choi Yeonseung’s strength. The recent events did help him, though. A few raids and the freshness of being a martial artist had to have quite an impact. That mattered to him a lot since, if he could keep his image this strong or make it even stronger, they would eventually become Choi Yeonseung’s fans.
[There is a great stirring of faith!]
[Winning with ease will grant you that faith!]
Choi Yeonseung nodded at the message windows. This was what gave Choi Yeonseung an advantage over other constellations—he could extort faith while pretending to be a normal mortal!
-Successor. I’ve lived as a constellation for a long time, but I have never seen anything like this before.
It was such an amazing method that the goddess of sloth admired it.
“Don’t be too nervous and relax. That person is no match for you anyway,” Aine said. She didn’t even look anxious.
The preparations for the match went fairly smoothly. The match against Maximilian had a much fiercer atmosphere than this one. They cursed at each other, had their companions fighting for them, and even swore on the Internet… In comparison, this match didn’t have as much action. Christopher only got ignored and insulted.
-I never thought the Arrogant Light Elf would be such a coward!
-That trash is already wagging his tail before he has even tried avenging Maximilian. This is why the British are useless. They’re so weak that their country got conquered.
-What does that matter now? He isn’t even British! He’s French!
-Isn’t Christopher British?
-His grandmother was French!
ㄴYou’re British, aren’t you?
-I want to witness martial arts for myself.
-I’m sure everyone is looking forward to that in this match.
Several hunters were in the arena, but there were quite a few non-hunters as well. Regardless, they all came to see martial arts, the skill that had been attracting the most attention lately. It was rare for a skill that had already been judged as impractical to receive such spectacular attention.
-Have you seen the video posted by Hunter Choi Yeonseung?
-I tried to follow it. It wasn’t difficult to learn.
-He said it was easy in the video and to not miss it.
-……
-I liked the footwork technique. I think it’s effective for avoiding or deceiving monsters. Considering a simple footwork technique can already do so much, the effects of a high-ranking one have to be much more powerful. I’m planning to focus on learning this one while looking for other footwork techniques in the auction house.
-I think the finger technique looks good. It can be done with one hand.
-Why did Choi Yeonseung show all of that to us, though?
-He did it in the spirit of philanthropy. For hunters and humanity.
-Do you believe that? Does this make sense?
-Why shouldn’t I? Didn’t you see Dragon Hwang’s post?
@Dragon_Hwang
-My clan’s hunter, Choi Yeonseung, generously disclosed martial arts information right before his match!
-What he did is really great. No one else would have done what he did.
-That’s because of his generosity toward hunters and humanity. Only first-generation hunters would have a soul like his.
-I hope selfish hunters will watch and learn from it.
-… Dragon Hwang probably only said that because Choi Yeonseung is a hunter from his clan.
-No, what Dragon Hwang is saying might be surprisingly true.
-You really believe so much in what that stupid old man says? How long has it been since he was last on active duty?
ㄴSend this to Dragon Industries.
ㄴㄴThis bastard is about to be taken to the basement of Dragon Industry.
-(Message deleted).
-It is hard to completely deny it, considering it’s Dragon Hwang who confirmed it.
-That’s right.
Deep in thought, several people focused their eyes on the battle that was about to start.
What type of match would it be?
***
‘I can’t let my guard down.’
Regardless of who his opponent was, Choi Yeonseung would never be shaken. If he was careless, he would’ve died in the Abyss long ago. That was why he remained humble and took every match seriously.
“!”
Choi Yeonseung was shocked. Strong magic power started to gush out from Christopher.
[Christopher Winter has used ‘Light Fragment.’]
[He has Inherited his constellation’s power!]
[He can now use the power of existence with certain limitations!]
“Beautiful mortal. Pass the test.”
Before Choi Yeonseung knew it, Christopher’s tone had changed. The power bestowed upon Christopher by a constellation had taken over half of his current personality.
-Great Baptism of Light.
Christopher waved his hand. Without having to chant incantations, light surrounded him and struck his opponent like a ferocious storm of bullets! However, Choi Yeonseung was already gone. By the time Christopher had raised his hand, Choi Yeonseung had already anticipated what would happen. Hence, he widened the distance.
‘It’s been a while.’
Choi Yeonseung had only ever fought at a disadvantage in terms of stats in the Abyss. Christopher was also restricted since they were fighting in the Otherworld, but he circumvented those restrictions using the power of existence, which he partly received from the constellation. As a result, despite his stats remaining the same, his power was multiplied several times.
‘Now!’
Choi Yeonseung rushed frantically when Christopher momentarily stopped attacking him. He was so fast that people couldn’t see him move. However, Christopher was already gone.
‘He went into the light!’
Choi Yeonseung was shocked to see Christopher disappear, having melted into the streams of light flying around him. It was a feat beyond the level a hunter could do.
‘Power of existence…!’
Choi Yeonseung was honestly surprised. He didn’t expect Christopher would show this much ability. He already knew that even ordinary hunters could become dozens of times stronger with special skills or constellation contracts, but…
He didn’t expect it to be this much.
‘No, isn’t the Arrogant Light Elf giving too much?’
Lending a part of himself to a household member. Choi Yeonseung didn’t know the fact that it was because Choi Yeonseung drew this much curiosity from the constellation. There was no reason to give Christopher this much power unless it was to test Choi Yeonseung.
***
It had already been a few minutes, but neither of them had hit the other. No one got bored, however.
The fight was so thrilling. Christopher fired bullets and spears of light nonstop, pushing Choi Yeonseung back. Choi Yeonseung somehow widened the distance and avoided them, however. He then tried to find gaps but Christopher turned into light and disappeared again.
‘I was curious about the elf constellation’s powers, but they seem better than the Warrior Stained with Madness and Blood.’
The Warrior Stained with Madness and Blood was a powerful and violent constellation, but his power was actually simple. He pursued straightforward power rather than complicated ones. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but encountering someone who had gained absolute control, like Choi Yeonseung, would bring him ridicule. After all, he wouldn’t be able to do anything.
In comparison, the power of the elf constellation was complex and had various applications. Christopher collected the light that shone around him and fired them out as spears and bullets. He then went inside it and walked around. His application of power was definitely annoying. If Choi Yeonseung could use his power of existence, he could catch and smash the guy hidden in the light. However, Choi Yeonseung couldn’t use it right now.
‘Then…’
Choi Yeonseung decided to test his idea. He dodged the attacks and smashed as many rocks as he could, then started to fling the debris into the air.
Large shadows appeared on the ground.
“!”
The bullets and spears of light that entered the shadows instantly lost power. Choi Yeonseung was correct.
‘As I expected, it’s a skill made out of power of existence, not magic.’
He used the power of existence to change the light around him and turned it into a weapon, but that had clear limitations. Compared to a constellation using it themselves, there were bound to be far more weaknesses.
Christopher paused when Choi Yeonseung responded by creating shadows around them.
‘Whoops. Did I respond incorrectly?’
Now that he had thought about it, his opponent liked beautiful fights. He just wasn’t sure what beautiful meant in that context. This might not be beautiful.
“Your cleverness allows you to respond quickly to urgent situations, I see. That’s beautiful!”
“Uh… Thank you?”
Rather than using useless long-range attacks, Christopher gathered light in his hand and created a sword. The sword glowed and exuded strong power.
“Try and pass this last ordeal beautifully as well.”
“Can you stop talking like that?”
Christopher, who held a sword of light, and Choi Yeonseung, who held a fist glowing with internal energy, clashed.
