The Homemaker of the Dungeon - Chapter 5
Housekeeper in the Dungeon Episode 5
Is it an illusion that the system comment somehow feels like a dirty joke?
“…Still, having a house is better than not having one.”
Heena looked back and forth between the clean window and the dirty house and muttered to herself for comfort.
Cleaning up a dirty house was all that was necessary, but the fact that we had a house was more important.
“Well, the water goes down well.”
As a test, I checked the water pressure in the bathroom and the water came out strong.
At least I had one of the most important elements when looking at real estate for sale.
After looking around the room, I squatted down in a corner. A notification window different from the system window flashed before my eyes.
“Congratulations on achieving your dream of owning your own home!”
“…is this making fun of me?”
Heena was displeased and turned off the notification window. Immediately afterwards, a window appeared again.
“It’s the homeowner’s job to keep this place warm and comfortable.”
“I’m not a full-time cleaner, so how do I clean up a place like this?”
As I spoke to myself, something that was not a system responded to Heena’s words.
「That is the duty of a housekeeper.」
「What is the duty….」
「Insufficient ability to be a homeowner. “A lot of training is required.”
“What do you mean they gave me such a dirty house just because I’m D-rank?”
Heena got angry at the criticism.
It was sad that I had a low rank due to my strange awakening ability, but when I heard that I was given such a poor house, I became even more angry.
“Who are you? “I don’t think it’s the system, but please come out and explain this situation!”
Heena was shaking her body and making a fuss, like a real customer calling the store manager.
In fact, even though I was like this, I thought to myself that there was no way ‘this’ being could come out, but I felt like I needed to vent my anger like this.
Heena’s mind was very exhausted. I don’t know how many times I’ve been caught between hope and frustration since last dawn.
Heena was not a cast iron that became harder the more it was tempered. The emotional changes between cold and hot baths made me feel irritated and tired.
“uh? “If you were going to hand over a house like this to me as your home, wouldn’t you have to compensate me for something?”
As I was ticking into the air, something suddenly popped out from the floor.
It was quite a large shape. Heena reflexively waved her hand.
“Ouch! bug!”
With the sound of the wind blowing, something hit my hand and bounced towards the wall.
It was something soft like jelly.
Tuk.
It hit the wall and was quickly thrown onto the dirty floor.
Heena shook her hands and examined it carefully. Upon closer inspection, it was not a bug as Heena had guessed.
It was the size of a fist and was writhing and making noise.
「According to ability…sale…compensation…no need.」
“What was it that he was answering so far?”
Heena quickly let go of her guard and approached it.
When I got closer and looked at it, I saw that it was shaped like a snail. Even though it was the size of a fist, it didn’t look as creepy as a real snail.
It has a cute gray shell and a jelly-like plump apricot-colored body.
「Violent… response… struggle… struggle….」
The snail was unable to break away from Heena’s touch for a long time and spoke incomprehensible words.
The sight of the snail crying out for struggle with its cute little body felt a little sad, so Heena waited patiently until the snail came to its senses.
“…Finished understanding of the landlord’s tendencies! Hot-tempered! “Violent!”
As soon as the snail came to its senses, it criticized Heena for her violence.
Heena apologized to the snail.
“I’m sorry if it hurts. But then suddenly something that looked like a bug came out and I was startled…”
Aside from being annoyed by the state of the house, Heena was not a person who treated real people carelessly. Even if it was a snail…
I apologized obediently, and the snail swung its protruding antenna-like tentacles. It was a delicate movement that seemed to be irritated.
“It’s a hasty call. “You have a nasty tendency!”
“If you’re surprised, you might do that. Isn’t that a bit harsh?”
“The perpetrator is silent.”
It was a snail that said all kinds of things.
Heena lowered her body and looked at the snail. I’m not sure where the eyes are, but I made eye contact with an area that looked like an eye.
“Are you the one who was congratulating me on achieving my dream of owning my own home and saying something about the duties of a homeowner?”
Then the two antennas started twitching like crazy. He appeared to nod his head.
“Yes.”
“Then what are you? “It’s not even a system, but it suddenly appears in such a strange way… This is the first time I’ve heard of something like this.”
“of course. Seen snail. “Very special.”
The snail’s antennae stood up stiffly.
Even though that was all, I felt an arrogance that was unmatched in a snail the size of a fist.
「Born Snail Skill ‘Home Sweet Home’ House Manager.」

As a victim caught up in the dungeon gate, Heena had a lot of work to do.
The first thing to do was to restore cleanliness. Only after washing her body at the public bathhouse and changing into new clothes was she able to refresh herself and think about her next goal.
Fortunately, I had money. I didn’t want to take my wallet with me, so the credit card I had left in my pocket turned out to be a big deal.
“Go to the community center, get a temporary ID card, and activate a cell phone…”
Heena counted the things she needed to do and the things she needed. There was so much to do that I felt lucky that I suddenly became unemployed.
“…and I have to buy household items, cleaning tools, and clothes.”
There really were a lot. I didn’t have time to sit like this. Heena jumped up from the bench and headed to the community center.
Thanks to my name being added to the list of Dungeon Gate victims yesterday, I was able to quickly get a temporary ID card issued.
As the number of dungeon victims continues to increase over the past 10 years, the government’s speed in processing related matters has reached almost the speed of light.
For your information, civil servants under the Dungeon Management Office were famous for working overtime.
Anyway, Heena opened her cell phone using the temporary ID card she was issued.
It was a necessity for living and being treated as a Korean citizen in Korea. I couldn’t do anything without my cell phone.
Not only was it necessary to have a means to immediately contact my brother, but I also needed it to find a new job.
‘I have money saved so I won’t have to worry for a while, but I can’t be unemployed forever.’
Heena sent a text message to her brother saying that she was alive and safe and that he should contact her when she got out of the dungeon.
Since communication devices in the real world don’t work inside the dungeon, my brother wouldn’t be able to see this message right away, but he had to contact me.
“Ugh.”
Heena sighed, leaving a message to her brother. This is because my heart was already heavy at the thought of finding a new job.
No matter how chaotic the world has become, there are still plenty of college graduates.
Heena, who jumped into the job market as soon as she graduated from high school, was one step behind them in terms of qualifications and salary.
“I heard that the economy is difficult these days, so it’s hard for experienced people to get re-employed… I’m sure I’ll be able to find a job soon.”
Heena shook her head and shook off her complicated thoughts.
“You can’t droop! “Let’s think about what we need to do right away, Lee Hee-na!”
At least now, it’s much better than the situation when the dungeon first came into existence, when my parents died and I was left alone with my brother.
The world that was ruled by chaos has become much more stable, and support for dungeon victims has emerged.
‘Besides, I also became an awakened person.’
It was a strange class called a housekeeper, but thanks to it, I saved my life and got a free house.
If it was luck, it was great luck.
As I was thinking about abilities, I thought of the snail with the gray shell that would be waiting for Heena inside the house.
The snail was angry that he had to clean up the house as soon as possible.
“It was strange from the first impression, but if it’s too late, it’ll be even more chaotic, right?”
Heena muttered, imagining the soft-looking head of a snail.
Someday, when we become friends, I will bounce that head and stop it….

“Ugh, it’s heavy!”
Heena entered the house carrying her arms full of things.
“action. Slow. “Lack of knowledge to be a housekeeper!”
As soon as I entered the house, nagging started pouring in.
However, Heena, who has been in the workforce for 5 years, had the courage not to raise an eyebrow at such trivial nagging.
“Ugh. If it weren’t for the fact that I could call the front door from anywhere, I would have broken my arm. “The house is in such a mess that it cost over 200,000 won just to buy cleaning supplies!”
When I grumbled as if to listen, the snail sternly waved its antenna.
“House owner. Lack of frugality! Comparison of prices at each supermarket is essential.”
I don’t know how someone like the manager snail that comes with the house skill knows how to shop frugally.
Heena responded without giving up.
“There was so much to process today. Meanwhile, going around and comparing prices is a waste of time. It’s better to just pick up something reasonably cheap and good at the supermarket. “Have you never heard that time is money?”
Heena complained about how busy she was today and laid out her things.
Bathroom cleaning products are as bathroom cleaning products, house cleaning products are as home cleaning products, and basic household items for Heena are separate.
It was Heena’s habit to put things away immediately after shopping.
The snail twitched its antenna as if watching Heena’s quick movements, and then admitted as if there was nothing it could do.
“…Rational thinking. Admit it.」
“Right? “You are a snail who admits what you must admit.”
Heena grinned.
If I had been alone, I would have been depressed because of the uncertainty of my future, but with a cute snail to keep me company, I didn’t feel bad.
