The Legendary Hero is an Academy Honors Student - Chapter 226
Chapter 226
Zeis, who oversaw all the Zerdinger trainees, finally received some good news.
“Great. All five of you passed the Lumene exam.”
As the Zerdingers’ training program was known to be of high caliber, many trainees attempted the Lumene exam.
However, not all Zerdinger trainees could enter the Hero Academies.
Despite their daily dedication to becoming excellent knights, the threshold for starting at Lumene was high.
In that context, it was truly inspirational that five Zerdinger trainees passed this year.
“It’s all thanks to Master Leo.”
Zeis chuckled at Martina’s words.
“You are the ones who overcame that training. This achievement is yours, so be proud of it.”
“Yes.”
“You are now Leo’s knights and students of Lumene. But remember, you will always be Zerdinger trainees.”
“Yes!”
“Yes. The Zerdinger family will prepare you for admission, so focus on your training until then.”
“Understood!”
Zeis smiled as he watched the Slayer Knights respond with the order and decorum they had practiced for years.
The five trainees emerged from the training center, looking at each other and cheering.
“Hurray!”
“We made it into Lumene!”
“We’re hero candidates!”
Martina and Carin clasped their hands and spun around, while Austin, Julan, and Valerie jumped in a circle with their arms around each other’s shoulders.
It felt like a dream.
“Wow! Becoming Master Leo’s knights feels like a dream come true!”
Carin spoke with a relaxed face, and Julan burst into laughter.
“Who would have thought? We’re Lumene students now!”
As the five celebrated, a voice from behind startled them into attention.
“So, you’ve been admitted to Lumene?”
“Miss Celia. Hello!”
Martina greeted her as the group’s representative.
“Congratulations! You’re officially my juniors now?”
The five watched Celia with admiration, smiling brightly.
Although they were now members of Leo’s Knights, they had trained with Celia since they were young and held great admiration for her.
Celia beamed with pride at hearing that the five trainees she had mentored, now fellow Lumene students.
“That’s wonderful. Let me take you somewhere now.”
“Yes, ma’am. Where are we going?”
Celia answered Martina’s question briefly, brushing back her hair, “To the Imperial Palace’s Library of Sorcery.”

Lordren’s Imperial Palace’s Library of Sorcery.
The heart of studies for magical knights in the Lordren’s Empire.
Its collection of sorcery books and research materials was comparable to the library of the Sorcery Towers, making it the premier destination for sorcerers.
Most of the central area was off-limits to sorcerers not affiliated with the Imperial Palace, but in the areas where no important documents were stored, it was open to Lordren sorcerers and outside guests.
Among the visitors, some drew attention.
“Oh, it’s Abad and Chelsea. Are they doing their summer homework? And who is that kid? A school friend?”
“Huh, you should at least recognize the most important figures in the Empire! That’s Leo Plov! Leo Plov.”
“What? Leo Plov?”
Sorcerers looked surprised to see Leo with the Lewellin siblings.
Leo Plov was already famous in the Lordren Empire.
However, the Lordren sorcerers were not accustomed to seeing him in the Imperial Palace’s Library of Sorcery.
This was understandable, given Leo’s connection to the Zerdinger family.
People found it unusual that someone from the Zerdinger line, a renowned family of knight heroes, was studying in the Palace’s Library of Sorcery.
But Leo had been a sorcerer first before becoming a knight.
Scritch-scritch—
Chelsea, engrossed in her homework, put down her pen and stretched with a satisfied thump.
“All done!”
Chelsea beamed as she finished her assignments.
Abad closed his book with his characteristically gentle smile.
“We did it faster than I expected.”
“It’s more efficient when the three of us work together like this.”
Chelsea smiled brightly and turned to Leo.
“By the way, Leo, you must have more than just sorcery homework—knight studies and summoning assignments too, right?”
She was once again impressed by his ability to manage everything.
“Abad!”
A group of girls, likely around the same age, approached hesitantly, holding sorcery books.
Their attire resembled school uniforms.
‘Apprentice Sorcerers of the Imperial Library of Sorcery.’
The Lordren family oversaw the Imperial Library of Sorcery, an institution that trained the Empire’s most promising sorcerers.
Abad and Chelsea had also studied here before entering Lumene.
The Apprentice Sorcerers were in a similar position to the Zerdinger trainees.
The girls, blushing and gathered around Abad, shyly presented their sorcery questions.
“I don’t understand this. Can you help me?”
Many of the Apprentice Sorcerers seemed to have waited for Abad to finish his homework before approaching him.
‘There must be other motives beyond just asking about sorcery.’
Chelsea propped her chin on her hand.
Being close to Abad since childhood, she knew he was always surrounded by admirers.
There was little she could do about it.
Even she saw that he was a prime candidate for marriage—handsome, kind, and the heir of the Lewellin family.
‘My brother is the ideal groom-to-be!’
With a determined huff, Chelsea stood up with her arms crossed.
“Brother, Leo. Would you like a drink?”
The library always stocked beverages and teas that helped increase concentration for those studying or researching.
“Miss Chelsea, I’ll get them for you.”
One of the Apprentice Sorcerers, who had approached Abad, offered to fetch the drinks, but Chelsea smiled and declined.
“No, it’s okay. You all can ask your questions now.”
Chelsea hummed nonchalantly as she went to get the drinks.
‘Since we’ve finished our homework, how about we visit the manor now? Since I came to the Plov family’s manor during summer vacation, it would be nice to show him around this time.’
Chelsea noted that Leo had completed his Zerdinger duties and entrance exams.
Now, he only had the remainder of his vacation to enjoy.
‘After all, next year might be a bit strange.’
Chelsea sighed softly.
No matter how young she was, as a hero candidate, she knew everything about the continent’s political situation.
It was expected that starting next year, finding any peace would be challenging.
‘Come to think of it, the entrance exam is over now. Why is the Azonia class representative still in Roland?’
Chelsea’s face clouded as she thought of Ar.
“Are you Leo Plov?”
“Yeah, that’s me.”
“I heard you have a remarkable grasp of sorcery theory. I’d like to discuss it with you.”
A girl, who appeared to be another Apprentice Sorcerer from the Imperial Palace Library of Sorcery, approached Leo with a bright smile.
‘She’s the one who was so blatant about flirting with my brother until just last year. Now she’s making moves on Leo?’
Chelsea raised her eyebrows.
Clank—
Chelsea’s tray made an unusual noise.
“Why is my precious niece upset again?”
Chelsea’s eyes widened at the voice that sounded like the spring breeze itself, and she turned around.
“Auntie.”
Chelsea’s eyes grew wide as she saw Cherna Lewellin, the general manager of the Imperial Palace’s Library of Sorcery.
Cherna smiled warmly and placed her hands on Chelsea’s shoulders.
“Is that Leo Plov?”
“Yes.”
“Huh?”
Cherna, initially staring at Leo with a skeptical look, brightened up.
“He certainly resembles Reina.”
“Do you know Reina, Auntie?”
“Of course. Reina was quite famous.”
Cherna shrugged and approached Leo.
The Apprentice Sorcerers, startled by her appearance, stepped back and bowed.
“Auntie.”
“Yes, Abad. It’s been a while.”
Cherna greeted her nephew with a cheerful smile and a wave.
Then she faced Leo.
“Welcome to the Imperial Library of Sorcery, Leo Plov. I’m Cherna Lewellin, the general manager here.”
“I’m Leo Plov.”
Cherna gently placed her hand on Leo’s cheek as she bowed politely, her smile as warm as the spring breeze.
“Oh, how polite you are. I’m thrilled to see you. I’ve told your uncle countless times how much I wanted to meet you, but he always refused. Hehe.”
Cherna, of the Lewellin bloodline, didn’t hesitate to criticize Zeis, the second-in-command of the Zerdingers.
‘Leo, listen carefully. If you ever see that wicked woman in the palace, avoid talking to her.’
Zeis had reacted similarly to Cherna before coming to the palace.
Before becoming the director of the Palace’s Library of Sorcery, Cherna had been the second-in-command of the Lewellin line.
Cherna’s bright smile faded as her eyes narrowed.
“But seeing you now, I wish I’d met you sooner. I should have invited you formally, regardless of the relationship between the Lewellins and Zerdingers.”
“I’m honored you think so.”
Leo smiled warmly.
“Since we’re here, we should have a chat.”
Chelsea stood beside Leo as Cherna addressed her.
“But Chelsea, perhaps I should talk to Leo alone this time.”
“Huh?”
Chelsea’s eyes widened as she rolled them and nodded.
“I understand.”
‘Why did her aunt ask to speak with me separately?’
With a hint of doubt, Chelsea watched Leo’s back as he followed Cherna.
Leo narrowed his eyes while walking behind Cherna.
‘There’s something dark within her?’
Cherna Lewellin.
The head of the Lewellin family and the general manager of the Imperial Palace’s Library of Sorcery.
At first glance, she appeared to be just a woman accustomed to a glamorous lifestyle.
Yet Leo sensed something else.
The strong scent of blood emanated from Cherna.
He was no stranger to such a presence.
In his days as a Great Hero, he had encountered similar darkness, akin to what Kyle, who dealt with traitors harshly, carried.
“I’m saying this out of personal concern,” Cherna said softly. “I hope you don’t mention anything about this to Chelsea. She’ll find out eventually, but… not now.”
“What?”
“Oh, you’re only pretending not to know,” Cherna said with a sly smile.
“I’ll keep to myself. I only say this because you seem to have a similar nature.”
Cherna stopped in the shadowy hallway and glanced back.
Her pale blue eyes, like those of Abad and Chelsea, glowed with an unsettling light.
“Even though you’re only fifteen.”
Cherna, a skilled hunter, saw a darkness in Leo that mirrored her own—something only those familiar with the darkness of the world would understand.
‘It seems deeper than mine.’
Cherna smiled, feeling a shiver from Leo.
“The reason I wanted to meet with you separately is because there has been another guest who arrived in the empire. They have a connection with you.”
Leo looked puzzled at her words.
Cherna reached the office, opened the door, and entered.
She looked surprised to see the people already present.
“Hey, Black Rabbit.”
Ar greeted Leo with a snort.
Next to her stood a large beastman, presumably a student from Azonia.
The wolf beastman, opening his eyes, addressed Leo seriously.
“Nice to meet you, Lumene’s student council president.”
He rose to his full height.
He was significantly taller than Leo, forcing Leo to tilt his head back to meet his gaze.
“My name is Doberman Charles. I’m the newly appointed student council president of Azonia. You’ll be seeing me often from now on.”
“It’s nice to meet you. I’m Leo Plov.”
Doberman looked down at Leo and sighed with apparent dissatisfaction.
“What a weak body. Why are all the Lumene students so weak?”
He glanced skyward and lamented.
“Leo, if you had come to Azonia, you’d have a much stronger physique…”
“Yes, yes. Let’s discuss enticing students from other schools another time.” Cherna smiled. “Shall we get to the point?”
Cherna placed a magically sealed box on the desk.
“A while ago, the Lordren Empire fought against a hero hunter and obtained this piece of loot.”
With a creak, she released the sorcery seal.
Inside was a fragment of iron.
Leo’s eyes widened.
“Is this the reason the Lordren Empire invited us here?”
Doberman looked confused.
“I heard it was related to Arron… What is this piece of iron?”
“Brave.”
“…!”
Doberman and Ar turned their heads to Leo.
Cherna’s eyes narrowed.
“You recognized it immediately? It’s just a fragment of a sword.”
Cherna nodded.
“Leo, you’re correct. This is a fragment of the hero’s sword, Brave.”
