Golden Mage - Chapter 25
Volume 1, Episode 25
Chapter 25
“You…?”
“Hehe, can’t I?”
El smiled cutely at Silfir’s surprised expression.
In his hands, he held a full glass of wine.
Silfir was about to say something, but she stopped herself. El had opened his mouth with a worried tone despite his adorable smile.
“I think Mom is having a hard time after meeting that man today. Can’t she forget about it for a while by having a drink? So, go ahead and drink to your heart’s content today. I’ll be here to help you.”
“We’ll help too, Mother.”
Following El, Serena and Kaina came in with their hands full of food.
It was the perfect accompaniment for drinking.
“Ha… How did all this…”
Seeing Silfir’s relaxed expression in response to the unexpected actions of the children, El and the two women couldn’t help but laugh.
El placed the food on the table and offered a glass to Silfir.
“You’ll become the Viscountess tomorrow, right? So, it’s best to celebrate it today. And I’ll… have a little drink too, hehe!”
El, who always seemed mature in front of others but acted like a child in front of Silfir, said with a warm smile. He was a prodigy at a young age, yet he never became arrogant. Despite having the opportunity to seize power over the continent, he made wise decisions and avoided dangers.
Silfir was so proud of her exceptional son.
“My most beloved son…”
Accepting the glass El offered, Silfir looked at the drink with a distant gaze. Then, she shifted her gaze to El.
He was smiling warmly at her. A smile filled with such warmth.
Looking at her son, who would be her pillar of support, she couldn’t help but feel immense gratitude and love. His eyes were filled with warmth and affection as he gazed at her, and she wanted to lean on him without hesitation.
Beneath that expression, El opened his mouth to speak.
At that moment, with an incredibly warm and affectionate voice, he said, “I trust Mom’s judgment. Even if your judgment is wrong, I won’t blame you. Everything comes from your thoughts and love for me. So, please act confidently. You are a remarkable magician, and I will always be by your side. Show us your smile. Your beautiful face shouldn’t be clouded by worries.”
Why are tears welling up?
The emotions Silfir felt at that moment were beyond description.
Such a lovely son.
El, unknowingly, managed to solidify Silfir’s heart with his words. She resolved to act more confidently.
“Exactly… as Elly said. Let’s trust my judgment.”
Moving forward to become a ruler in another country wouldn’t be so bad. However, knowing that she was inexperienced in politics, she realized she could become a pawn in the game.
“But if it’s your father, he will surely guide Elly well. Elly possesses genius talent.”
Though El didn’t know, Silfir had once used Mana Scan on him.
At that time, she was astonished to discover that El possessed power equivalent to a 5th-class expert. She didn’t say anything, but El was already at the level of a 5th-class expert.
That knowledge gave Silfir the certainty that El was a genius. If he mastered the Vision of Mana of the Ainhardt Viscount, his era would dawn in the next generation.
Silfir gently stroked El’s sleeping head. Then, she looked at Kaina, who was approaching to wake him up, and quietly shook her head.
Kaina seemed apologetic, bowed slightly, and left with Serena.
Once they were gone, Silfir got up from her seat and left the room.
“Whew!”
As Silfir left, El, who had been pretending to be asleep, opened his eyes and let out a sigh.
Because of the issue with entering the Ainhardt Viscount, Silfir still had many worries.
“I’m sorry, El! I’m sorry for feeling that way.”
The emotions Silfir had struggled with after El’s suggestion welled up again. She had considered not going there, but the temptation of the Ainhardt Viscount was too strong.
Of course, it wasn’t that she had a desire for power. She just wanted to give her exiled family the happiness of being reunited.
But the aftermath of her actions resulted in the decline of the Ainhardt Viscount’s power, as she learned recently.
Furthermore, her daughter was abandoned, and the Viscount suffered a month-long famine because of her actions.
With all of this combined, she couldn’t help but feel sorry, despite the blame she harbored for her husband’s cruel death.
If only she followed her father’s wishes…
Of course, she wouldn’t feel regret, as she truly loved her husband and bore El, her lovable son.
But when she thought about what her husband had gone through because of her actions, she couldn’t help but feel guilty.
The love of family… she truly realized its significance after giving birth to El.
