Golden Mage - Chapter 33
Volume 2, Episode 3
But there exists a saying, “A show of power.”
She had walked a path that could not be reversed.
If she were to stop here, El instinctively knew she would be in danger.
El shifted her gaze towards Cilfir.
Cilfir, too, was looking at El with a constant look of unease.
El opened her mouth towards Cilfir.
“You asked why I caused this commotion earlier, right?”
“Yes.”
Cilfir nodded.
And then, he glanced at Viscount Einhart for a moment before continuing.
“Show it to me alone.”
She, too, sensed it intuitively. What El had done was no ordinary matter. And it could be a severe blow to her father or brothers, who were obsessed with the glory of the family.
El fell into thought for a moment.
Viscount Einhart gazed at El with anxious eyes. He felt like attacking immediately and erasing the captured contents himself. But the combination of that golem and El didn’t seem easy to handle.
Firstly, the Night Golem was known to exist in only ten on the continent other than the Grandmaster, so it seemed impossible to subdue it unless a multitude of 7th class masters like El, Gleton, and the viscount’s magicians worked together. But if it were to escape, they would never catch it.
And that would be the end of it. If the captured contents were spread throughout the continent, Viscount Einhart would cease to exist.
‘What should I do?’
Viscount Einhart immersed himself in deep thought.
While Viscount Einhart was lost in thought, El cast a spell on Cilfir.
The magic El was casting was a 6th class magic called “Isolation Space,” which could confine the opponent to a secluded space.
As a 7th class mage, El could cast 6th class magic while simultaneously using Magic Capture.
“Isolation Space.”
Having cast the spell on Cilfir, El proceeded to use Magic Capture.
And Cilfir saw the images.
The secrets about her husband, the information about the magic stones, and the complicated story about the crown prince and the proposal to brainwash Ellie and turn her into a family magician, and so on.
Very licentious and cruel stories.
A sob-like sound involuntarily escaped Cilfir’s lips.
“Urgh!”
A sense of despair overwhelmed her.
She had returned to the family after 17 years, expecting her family to at least use her as a sacrificial lamb for the family’s glory…
Moreover, seeing with her own eyes that they intended to kidnap El to take control of the magic stone made her tremble in fear.
Tears started to flow uncontrollably. And a feeling of self-reproach surged like a flood.
She had experienced firsthand the cruelty of the family. But bringing Ellie here herself…
No matter how cruel the family was, she had at least hoped for some affection.
But that was not the case.
The family was truly cruel and heartless. There was not even a trace of familial affection.
She would be fine with anything as long as Ellie was safe…
But… the family had used Ellie as well.
And to make it worse, they were planning to brainwash her.
Her own grandson and nephew. To think she could have a grudge against her family and try to brainwash them.
For the first time, she realized that she could hate her family. Even when she killed her husband, she didn’t feel hatred. She believed it was due to the prince’s pressure.
But that wasn’t the case.
She didn’t consider them as family. They were merely tools for the family’s glory.
She wanted to abandon everything, to escape from reality.
“No, I can’t. I made a promise. I can’t do that.”
As she felt the desire to give up everything, Cilfir bit her lip tightly.
Her teeth sank into her lip, and blood started to flow, but it seemed as if she couldn’t feel the pain.
Before casting the magic, Cilfir had made a promise with El.
To face the truth without despair. To accept reality courageously.
Now it was time for her to keep that promise.
Her will was supported by the mental strength of a 6th class mage who had reached the 7th class.
Although she wanted to escape from the harsh reality, she had to accept it. Because it was the truth and the true fact. It was far better than being trapped in a false world.
The spell was lifted.
At that moment, Cilfir’s body staggered slightly.
“Ugh!”
Tears flowed from her eyes. Even though she had decided to face reality, seeing Viscount Einhart and Gleton made the tears flow involuntarily.
Her grief was so great.
Even her last glimmer of trust in her family was broken…
“Mother…”
El couldn’t possibly miss Cilfir’s feelings.
Every little emotion of hers was transmitted to El through her actions.
“I can’t forgive…”
A blue aura started to emit from El’s eyes.
Kukukukukuk!
At the same time, the mana around El started to surge.
It was a reaction to her extremely high mana responsiveness.
“This is…”
As El’s momentum was conveyed, Viscount Einhart and Gleton couldn’t dare to look down on her and raised their momentum in response.
At the same time, the mana pervading around them swelled fiercely, resisting El’s force.
It was an explosive situation.
El’s mouth slowly began to open.
Chapter 2: The Strongest Golem! The Strongest Mage!
“You… how can you be human… how can you do that to your family?”
A tender face. A tender voice.
But that voice contained an undeniable force.
The sound of power, a 5th class magic that could instantly shatter the opponent’s composure, “Sound Force,” was cast.
Thanks to El’s awe-inspiring mana response, Sound Force demonstrated tremendous power.
“Kugh!”
In an instant, Gleton was so shaken that he stumbled.
The extraordinary power also affected those surrounding them, causing their composure to crumble.
This was not only Viscount Einhart’s curiosity but the curiosity of everyone gathered here.
However, El had no reason to sincerely answer that question.
She responded with just one sentence.
“Self-taught.”
“….”
A moment of silence followed.
Breaking the silence, El spoke again.
“Is it my turn now?”
At that, Viscount Einhart exploded in anger at El’s nonchalant response.
“Are you kidding me right now?”
“I simply told the truth. I learned everything through self-study.”
And closing her mouth, Einhart looked at El and said, “I’m tired of talking.”
El nodded. She didn’t want to talk to Viscount Einhart any longer either.
“It’s true. I don’t like people who view their family as mere tools. But… I have one proposal.”
“A proposal? Tell me.”
“What happened this time was a result of my inability to control my anger. If Mom and I had quietly disappeared and then spread the contents of the magic capture, you wouldn’t be safe either.”
“….”
